NHL Highlights | Senators vs. Bruins – December 21, 2025

two overtime victory here at TD Garden. Couple of changes for Sturm in the lineup today. Alex Steve steps in. He was a healthy scratch last night against the Canucks. Jeffrey Vel draws out. They dropped the puck and away we go. Middlestat trying to steer it ahead. INTERCEPTED. KACHCHUCK WITH A SHOT AND CORPOSAL THE SAVE. PADDLED OUT of there by Makavoy. Zoo shoots. Corposal directs to the near side. Jensen dishes right to Matt and Paulo. Otto in yesterday’s game lost a key defenseman as JENSEN SET IT UP AND THEY SCORE. A WRIST SHOT COMING INTO THE SLOT. Bath found a little seam through some of the bodies and the Ottawa Senators with an early one- nothing lead. >> Right from the opening face off, the Bruins give up a scoring chance to Brady Kachuk. And then here they are with plenty of bodies back but just token pressure and bath takes that little touch pass and he goes against the grain with Pon setting the screen in front of the net. Bruins not eliminating bodies not picking up the read right people giving a Jeru dives in the Bruins able to get to it now. Sanderson fires, BLOCKED OUT IN FRONT. AMIO AND THAT BACKHAND far side Corposello was able to keep out of there as Ridley Greg got a piece of it. The puck goes from off the wall from Middlestad out to no man’s land. Kachuk ends up with a pretty good opportunity. Ottawa next to last in the league in penalty killing the Bruins fifth in the power play. GIVE IT AWAY. STUTZ WITH A BREAKAWAY SHORTHANDED INTO THE SLOT. Shoots Corpel the save. really improved their entries. Not here. Turn the puck over. A clean breakaway from behind the red line. Guasalo able to make the save. It trickled up over his right shoulder. Was laying on his back. Was it going to find the back of the net? No. Stayed just outside the post. Big time save. SHABBAT FIRES. CORPOSEL THE SAME REBOUND. CORPUSEL THE SHOT. THEY SCORE. GIRU GOT THAT THIRD OPPORTUNITY and put the Senators in front. Two nothing. Do a nice job on their for check. Little chicken wing on the stick of Peak right there. Otherwise, Peak makes a play on the puck. No call. Good keep in by Shabbat. And then pucks and bodies to the net. There’s a good save right there by Corposalo, but there’s just too many people opening and around the Ned. Jaru finds the puck. He’s on his off side. Not sure if that was a kick pass, cuz if it was, that’s pretty darn good. Bath’s right there. He kicks it. Yep, that’s a good kick pass right there by Bath. >> Up top, Baing an assist thus far. SANDERSON SHOOTS OFF THE POST AND IT trickles out. He’ll fire it back in the net. Zetterland sweeps it back up top. 10 seconds left on the Lynholm penalty. Shabbat Zetterland shoots. He scores. HE SNUCK IT BY CORPOSELLO ON THE SHORT SIDE. A POWER PLAY GOAL. Three nothing Senators. 3 seconds left in the man advantage. seconds into a PK. Just a shot from below the dot on the elbow. Too much room over that right shoulder and underneath the crossbar. So, a trio of goals scored here by the Senators. Just under two minutes remaining in the first. The Bruins down three nothing. Ace him on back of the net. Try to TUCK IT IN SHORT SIDE. Peak shoots. Blocked. Bruins back out. Regroup. Saka drags it in. >> Geeky. >> Just under a minute left here in the first. Posternok. SAKA. POSTERN SHOOTS. HE SCORES. DAVID POST WITH A BLAST IN THE RIGHT CIRCLE. A POWER PLAY GOAL AND THE BRUINS ON THE BOARD TRAILING 3-1. WELL, after the puck got away from Makavoy into the neutral zone. You know that collective, oh, what are they doing from everybody in the building, but they get an easy quick re-entry and they set up a play that they’re looking for. They get into the umbrella and they get it on the flank to Pos and it’s a simple little go give and go. Come right back to me. I’m shot ready. One-time. It’s been a while. It’s been a while for David Pos and he just tease it up. And now the Bruins go to work on a five on four >> AS TIM STOLER RACES TO GET TO THE PUCK SHORT-HANDED, SHOOTS CORPUSAL WITH A GLOVE SAVE. >> Uh I I I’d like to see Charlie establish a shot uh a little more. and uh he’s got two amazing guys to uh give one-times to with Geeky and Pasco. >> And the raffle will go on until December 23rd. So those numbers just keep getting larger as Corposell made another save out in front. They score. Tim Stutz stayed with it and he bangs one in by Yonas Corposello. It’s 4-1 Senators. >> These are the details we were talking about again, Jud. You know, this is just protecting the house, protecting the front of the net, eliminating sticks, and Ottawa just wins the battle down low in the dirty areas. They get to pucks. They force Corposal have to make a save. Corposal can’t smother it. So, there’s going to be rebound opportunities and Stelless able to get his stick free after that shot from the slot area through a little bit of traffic. Bruins can’t eliminate the stick. his second >> and the tickets could be purchased by going to the Boston Bruins Foundation website um and obviously in person here at the game, but uh really appreciate you guys uh having me on and uh appreciate the Bruins Foundation and Bob Sweeney with what he does and to support. Oh my god. Bath with a long drive and that one tucks in >> and it’s actually Cousins from the point who ripped it in from long range. as we take a look at what happened. >> Yeah, you can take a look from behind Cousins. He’s standing still 59 ft away. He’s kind of a move. Some guys are just good at it regardless. For years, they’ve been a few shootout specialists. Yeah, you know. Oh, here we go. Here we go. It’s going to be Mcderin against Jano. Second time they scrap this year. Not at center ice. THEY GRAB A HOLD. JANOA RIGHTIGHT. Mcder trying to hold him back. JANO JUST OVERPOWERED THEM AND KNOCK THEM DOWN. THEY’RE STILL JAWING AWAY as the linesman will escort them to their respective penalty boxes. And the team that’s in last of the Toronto Maple Leafs trailing right now in Dallas. MACKOY SHOOTS. HE SCORES. Charlie Mackoy gets his first goal of the season on his 28th birthday. Bruins trailing the Senators 52. Yeah, I was watching them go to the bench to see who was going to lead the parade and I think Nagavoy wasn’t sure if that was his goal or maybe back of the net. Now Casta cut it off. Couldn’t get it out. This is one of the things Marco Sturm talked about recently as this one is drilled in by Zetterland. He scores. Swaming looked like he may have overslid this one. Zetterland with two on the power play. 6-2 Senators. >> Yeah. Almost looked like a change up. I don’t think it deflected. I just don’t think he flushed it. >> And it looked like just the opposite. See if we can get to get a better look at it here. Third period underway. >> Sanderson gave it away. CASTLE WANTS TO GRAB A HOLD AND GET IT GOING WITH MCDER. Mcderman a right. CASTLE A RIGHT. Mcder a right. That missed. CASTLE AN UPPERCUT. CASTLE a left. Mcder a right. CASTLE A RIGHT. CASTLE A RIGHT. CASTLE ANOTHER RIGHT HAND. MCDER A RIGHT. Castle a right hand. AND BOTH MEN GO DOWN. Got it. >> And now you got to race back into the Bruins zone. Here’s Amatio. CUTS IN, SHOOTS, SWAM IN THE STOP, AND THEN MAKAVOY FINISHED him after the play. Here’s Makavoy. Zaka across. And that’s going to do it. Ottawa scored three times early in the first period. They cruised to a 6-2 victory.

Fabian Zetterlund had a pair of goals and an assist, while Dylan Cozens and Drake Batherson each had three points to lift the Ottawa Senators past the Boston Bruins 6-2.
