  1. His market dropped when every team really took a seat back and looked at his SWING AND MISS portfolio lol. Any competitive/competent team looking to win right now would've suffered mighty with his bat in the lineup 😂 let's keep it 💯 Signing with one of the worst franchises in MLB is all you need to know. HE DIDN'T CHOOSE THE WHITE SOX, HE SETTLED. This man came to America on a "Prove it" deal lmao🫣

  2. White Sox are basically taking no risk signing him for 2 year 34million. Munetaka gets a chance to prove his worth and can get a big payday at 27/28 and gets acclimated to Major League Baseball and the White Sox get a valuable trade asset if he balls out.

  3. He's going to be wasted for 2 years in that dump on the south side. The White Sox as an organization is pure trash he's going to play in front of approximately 14 people 3 hookers and 4 crackheads😂 what the hell is he thinking for his career signing in one of the worst teams in all of baseball

  4. Guys we need that $17m for montas not to pitch and we don’t want to mess up vientos being the worst IF in baseball over at first this year. Idk if it’s ever been done. Worst IF in MLB at theird then first the following year!? 🎉😂 plus sterns plan to get fired and collect 3 years of pay asap is becoming clearer and clearer every day!

  5. Asia now has a presence other than the Dodgers – a merchandise and recruiting bonanza for the SOX. Suggestion: Try say something kind about the SOX for a change.

  6. Dodgers fan here.. great point that Freddy's deal is up when his is.. IF he shows out; he could be looking at some of the best money in the game. Depending on if he can hold his own at 1B, (since he did poorly at 3B) he could be a direct replacement. But also smart going with a team like the Sox, because even if he doesn't do well and their coaching staff can't get that knowledge translated right; he'll still get plenty of time at the plate to work through that growth himself. Honestly pretty excited to see where he goes, and where the Sox go this coming season.

  7. Seeing that it’s only a 2 year deal and the deadline was Monday, I feel like this is a “prove yourself” type contract so everyone was cautious about his swing and strike out rate, so I think based on how he does in the next couple seasons he could get a bigger contract when he turns 27. Yoshida was an example of the league paying without seeing how it would translate

  8. With all the question marks surrounding Murakami, this is the best deal he could have signed. Maybe going somewhere that's known for developing players a bit better, but not a top tier team would have been a better landing spot, but the deal is perfect.

If he performs, White Sox trade him for a haul AND he hits the market where he can sign a 10 year massive deal.

If he washes out, he goes back to Japan.

A 5 year deal wouldn't have paid him what he wanted and he wouldn't hit free agency where he could sign a massive deal.

  9. The South Side is where careers go to die. ChiSox destroy all their young talent. Murakami reminds me of Aristides Aquino. The long swing will eventually get him in trouble if he can't adjust to major league velocity.
