The club’s interest has apparently continued, with a team source telling Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that Okamoto and the Pirates have engaged in “multiple virtual meetings.” It isn’t known if Okamoto is planning any in-person visits to Pittsburgh or any other cities before his 45-day posting window closes on January 4.

I'd much rather have okamoto rocking 3b over noodle bat aka no power triolo. I'd love to sign him personally.

  1. I like him alot and would love to have him as our 3b next season. An infield of okamoto, griffin ‘when he’s called up’, lowe, and horwitz is a massive upgrade over what they had last season. They had too many weak bats with no power like nick gonzales, triolo, etc killing us with no power nor extra base ability last year. Okamoto and lowe will bring a significant power boost to this lineup as key additions if we sign him.

  2. This would be an ideal signing and make this the most successful offseason (I know, very low bar), since 2013.
