Might have missed it but have we learned anything more about the injury Monty sustained during the fight in the Avs game? Seems odd nothing's been said about it other than "injury."

This is the latest I can find: https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/hockey/news/krakens-brandon-montour-out-again-saturday/

Do we think this is more disciplinary? Seems strange to be out for multiple games without some disclosure as to what the injury is. Can't recall in recent history that ever happening with another player.

  1. Last I heard was during the broadcast in today’s game was that it was an upper body injury but nothing more

  2. It’s not odd to keep an injury under wraps if they can. We don’t know McCann’s outside of LBI. We happened to know that Kakko’s preseason injury was a broken hand because that was pretty obvious from the strike

  3. NHL teams are notoriously tight lipped about injuries. Best you’ll ever hear is upper or lower body injury. They keep it locked down because exposing an injury might also expose where a player is vulnerable.

And don’t think for a minute players won’t take advantage of that. In hockey, if you ain’t cheatin you ain’t tryin.

  4. It happened in the scuffle with Burns in the game against the Avs. We were at the game, and he didn’t go to the penalty box and never returned to the game. We were super confused thinking he got a game misconduct or something until we realized he was injured.

  5. I have to imagine it was his hand. He gave Burns a final blow while on the ground that seemed to land hard
