Game score breakdown

  1. Well that proves once again that end results don’t actually mean that the game was a complete train wreck.

We had a few games this season that went completely nuts and escalated even though the team wasn’t horrendous. Our Utah game was better than the win Vs Pittsburgh.

People need to take a fucking chill pill. We were the worst team over the last 3-4 years. This year we already exceeded all expectations. We are above .600 and 5-4-1 in our last ten. We have 3 players in the top 30.

Yes the team doesn’t look as sharp as the weeks before but we are still more than fine.

Young teams tend to be streaky and this is just a cold streak. The condensed schedule also seems to weigh on our core. Obviously every team has this problem but more experienced teams usually are better at conserving energy when they lead.

This year is great to see what the Ducks are capable of. Our offense is electric and we are right behind the Avs and Dallas. More experience will (usually) also mean better defensive plays for our young players. So our biggest weakness should get better the next few years even without any major trades.

People also seem to forget that defense doesn’t mean 2 d-men and a goalie. Our forwards are really not that good defensively and leave our d-core often times in desperate positions. Then we pile on the hate train against whoever (most of the time Helleson not without reason though) while the forward (for example mason) just glides back watching the play unfold.

Fixing defense is also easier than fixing offense. So we’ve got a good foundation. With the condensed schedule there was and is little time to adjust during the season this year. Maybe the Xmas break and/ or the Olympics give us a little bit of time to adjust.

We are still on course for a wild card spot which was the goal all along. If we make it fine if we miss the playoffs it’s not the end of the world. People forget how atrocious everything besides goaltending was the last few years. If Dostal and Gibby don’t stand on their heads we don’t even have 70 points at the end of last year’s season…

If Verbeek starts to frantically trade our silverware away I’m gonna be mad. Don’t lose the bigger picture for the short term gains.

  2. Score card doesn’t seem like it matched the game. Could’ve fooled me when looking at Trouba and Moore. Trouba played his worst game of the season from what I saw

I also didn’t notice Leo much
