  1. Two things: Putting up with Nylander, because he is good when, and if, he decides to play is damaging to the team fabric. Matthews being claimed as one of the most important players in the franchise's history is an insult to the warriors that won cups with the Leafs a 100 years ago, or whenever that was!!

  2. With the amoutn of double clips I have seen past few days I think producer Drew is taking the night off as much as Willy xD (jk ofc, not even close to as bad as willy)

They need to tank this season big time their 1st round pick is top 5 protected …. hopefully they get lucky and land 1st for Gavin mackenna …. and start dumping players anyone 30 plus gots to go asap …. and in the summer make a big splash mathews nylander reilly all need to go let Tavares go too at the deadline to Colorado let him win a cup lol 😆 😄 😀 …. tanev mccabe start a whole new rebuild around knies Cowan danford mackenna woll stolarz out get a group of players that have heart stop going with skill it can only take you so far

  8. They won’t play for the coach. They don’t play for each other either. Look. I’m only a Toronto fan through Steve and gang. I have two other teams I would consider my favorites so I don’t mind being a little crazy. I’ve been saying for 4 years that the best thing for the leafs was to move on from all of them. Marner Matthews and Nylander have rotted this team and its culture. Split them up and start with a real leader who brings value when the team or they aren’t playing well. All of the behind the scenes and interviews they just don’t like each other. 22 million plus tied up in people who only care about themselves is going to get you nowhere forever.

  9. Steve, you biggest problem at defense is not Simon Benoit, it's number 44, Morgan Rielly he's the highest paid train wreck in the NHL, he's useless. Benoit is not playing great but when you're superstars have 2 or 3 points amongst themselves in the last 10 games, there lies the problem. Tavares is not even earning his team friendly money and people want to give him back the C…lol

  10. What I would do is simple…simple but not easy. You need a culture change. That change has to come from above, if you want to be the Florida Panthers you need to manage like they do, define your culture, recruit the kind of people who understand and implement it. Find players who play like that and proceed to never compromise or apologize to anyone. The Leafs have none of this, they are secretive, irresponsible and unaccountable. The star players feel too safe because they are. Teams like Vegas or the Panthers would have traded or benched their asses if they didn't deliver.

For 10 years Dubas gave away first rounders and other picks to get rid of character players for cap issues and to acquire players with character that was lacking in the core four playoff performances. Shanahan should have made Treliving trade Marner and avoid losing #16 for nothing as his condition for being hired.

  16. Honest question here: what makes Auston Matthews one of the most important players in the Toronto Maple Leafs 108 years of history, other than being a 1st overall pick of 2016 and scoring 60+ goals twice?

  22. If the Leafs fire Berube I will have been informed by Leafs management they plan to keep losing. The players will run the team and it really won't matter who is coach. The Leafs will have 100% been told never listen to the coach. Go out do whatever you want, play however you want, quit whenever you want. The core in the Matthews era may have been talented, but they are lazy, heartless and uncoachable.

  24. Think of this, Berube was hired at the end of the 2023-2024 NHL season, we've had a year and a half with him pretty much, like who else can you blame, with all these no move clauses in contracts for our big stars? Tavares, wait doesn't he have a No Move clause too?

    Domi? No cause he's actually trying, the Head Coach is gonna be the fall guy here I feel like it when push comes to shove, cause the inmates are running the show. We should have never given a goal suck the Captain's C and the fact he doesn't seem to wanna do his job without his buddy Marner shows.

  25. Willy was singled out, demoted, and publicly commented on twice in a week by his coach in early november while carrying the team on his back for the entirety of the season up until that point, 2 ppg, while auston was injured and noone but him and JT were scoring.

    Of course he quit on his coach, and on his team. He was sick for 2 weeks during that stretch, and on IR for 2 games. Still got called out like its his fault the team sucks. Theres deep faults with this team, and singling out any one player, whether thazs JT or Knies or Auston or Willy, is a cop out.

  26. The window is closed. It ended when Marner was run out of town. Trade Matthews, Rielly and Nylander and stock the cupboards with picks and see you in a few years. It's that time now.

  28. I love Willy more because of this. He’s right. He may be the only person in the org that truly gets how bad of a choice hir8ng Berube truly was. Get that guy gone no matter how. They wasted another 2 years already by hiring him. Last year was luck as the bruins took a step back and FLA and TBL didn’t care about the season. Keefe with that defense and goaltending would have challenged WPG for the presidents trophy with his systems. Berube has one idea and that one idea doesn’t work since the turn of the decade. Monumentally dumb hire. I enjoyed the Horecheck leafs more than the Berube ones.

  29. Anyone watch the Sens lay a beat down on Boston? I hate Boston. But losing late in the 3rd, they were pissed. They didn't like it. They started swinging and being very angry men. Contrast that with the Leafs emotionless tail tucking between the legs. It's disgusting.

Hear me out, let them tank, encourage it actually, because if we fall in the bottom 5 of the league for draft picks, we get our first rounder back from Boston for Carlo and it goes to another year, let’s get mckenna fuck it. I hate this team this year, they suck and couldn’t actually do anything if they made the playoffs which is already mission impossible it seems, so it would be amazing if they actually fell apart and lost the rest of the season to get the first overall pick.

Everyone on this team saw how the fans and the media treated Mitch as they couldn't wait to throw him out the door, and they all went nope, and started to count the days when they could leave too. In the meantime they'll just let their millions comfort them as the Dangles of the world rain down their pain and frustration from Mount Entitled fan, and take comfort in the fact that that the fans passion and self hate will wane everyday as the Leafs re-enter their "Gary Leeman Years" for the next decade. Friendly reminder that this team hasn't even been to a SCF since the league had more than SIX! teams.

  33. It’s is Covid. And William Nylander (can’t say how I know) has long covid. Diagnosed. This is what happens when a world pretends a pandemic is over and drops any form of protection from a virus that damages your immune system, so that any sickness you get more often and take longer to get over it.

  36. About the NMCs they could just do a Chris Dury, "I don't give a shit if you have a no move or not, I'm getting rid of you one way or another." and he did.
