That's because the Red Sox does something that this regime has never been good at…drafting and developing young talent, then signing them to long-term deals that provide players with stability in terms of financing and the team with deals that players will outperform. Anthony. Bello. Raffaela. Campbell. They set up their young core and then they can supplement with trades and free agents.

    As far as saying that the team needs to get better isn't "interesting" as such. It's politicking. Shapiro is saying what he knows we want to hear to try and placate us until the team signs or trades for someone.
