  1. Kinda crazy that as good as Norris Seidhart has been this year, he looks like hes actually still getting better each game. If anyone follows McCurdys work, he has a tool he built called sG (synthetic goals) which essentially captures a players effect on both sides of the ice. Similar to gamescore but gets there differently.

    From what I can tell in his data, Mo is having the 5th best 24 year old season of all active D behind only fox, hughes, heiskanen, and dahlin. Thats some elite, elite territory. And hes not far behind heiskanen or hughes.

  3. Looking at the schedule, I saw that the Leafs are coming up.  Chatting with partner about the upcoming games, I barely got the game opponent out before these words were uttered: BELT. TO. ASS.  🤣

    So completely stunting on the Leafs is the hockey holiday wish in this household.  

  5. I think we can all agree the best outcome in the West is the Canucks stay hot and sneak in as the #2 wildcard. They beat Colorado then face the Wild in round 2 and win again. It would be hilarious and we’d get to see Vancouver have an identity crisis if they’re rebuilding or competing again

  8. Seider, 10th in D points in the league, has roughly double the hits as any D in the top 20 in scoring. Also has 13 more blocked shots than any D in the top 20 of scoring

  12. I have no idea how things really work in the organization but JVR, Gibson, Leonard, Appleton seem to be good finds by the pro scouting department. JBD and Hammer aren’t as impressive but us supporters have been pretty tough on the Wings pro scouting so let’s give them their flowers 💐

  16. Hypothetical question that maybe isn’t very tough to answer if you are a younger Red Wings fan (or even if you are “older”):

    Let’s say hypothetically we knew the Wings clinched a playoff spot this year and you could only afford to go to one game. Would you rather go to Fedorov’s Jersey Retirement ceremony and game or the first Red Wings playoff game ever in LCA?

  21. I was thinking last night about how Trey Augustine must feel seeing his pal Jacob Fowler play in 4 NHL games now with 1 SO. Same age, similar NCAA numbers, Trey beat him out as the 1A at world juniors. Fowler realistically only has about 25 Pro level games now compared to Trey’s 4 (at the worlds). You’d have to think he feels some sort of confidence that he would show immediate results like Fowler has.

  24. Considering the number of games that have gone to OT, which in my opinion is way too many, and the fact that the league implicitly admits that regulation wins are worth more via the tiebreaker rules, I think it’s long past time for 3-2-1 to come into effect.

  34. Realistically, if you are building a Stanley Cup contender outside of Cale Makar, are we taking Mo Seider next? He may not get the point totals of a Werenski, Hughes, Dahlin, etc, but, he is the best defense first/physical guy in the top 10. Thoughts?

  35. I actually think Logan does a good job and I’m not gonna hate on him because it ain’t his fault that Trevor got fired and he was hired to replace him.

    But you watch Trevor and Ozzy behind the desk together and you have to wonder what FanDuel was thinking relegating Trevor to this part time role when they had the answer to John Keating retiring entirely in house. Like all this to save, what? Maybe $40k a year? And maybe not even that because you brought Trevor back on a part time basis since the fans lost it when you canned him? You’re a fucking casino! You probably made $40k in the time to it took me to type this comment.

  40. has anyone purchased a jersey from nhl shop or fanatics or have any other recs for shops? i have been wanting to get a seider jersey for a while, but the prices seem… high? i am new-ish to hockey, are these prices normal? 😵‍💫
