That screen play is all on McCarthy he either dirts it or has to know that that edge comes unblocked and just falls down to take the sack. He shouldn’t have taking that hit no matter how you put it he knows the play he’s ran it before you know the edge comes unblocked.
Max making that pass to Jetta on tnl was clutch for rookie backup. JJ needs to keep healthy & developing or hope to become the next Baker or Sammy D elsewhere.
The Edge should have NEVER been unblocked !! EVER!
The drops need to stop!!
Andy, please add the hand from "Arrested Development"
Darrisaw has been hurt and missed games every season… should we quit on him or prioritise bringing in (and paying) a starter level backup. No and the same applies for JJ. Develop JJ & Max and continue to build the team over a few seasons. Optimistic Since 1961
Sorry but just have to say it. I don’t understand why so many fans are ready to quit on McCarthy. Yes it’s not gone as smoothly as hoped but he’s fun to watch play and you can see the 22 year old is getting better by each game. The drops have hurt his stats. I’m old school and I believe in the eye test. McCarthy is a winner period. Happy to push cash to the middle of the table and bet on McCarthy being better next year and the year after that.💰
Why are we still winning.. tank for tua lololol
NFLA told them to loose the season. Drop passes don't block blah blah blah
No broken bones in McCarthy's hand is good news.
Paul Allen and crew had said in the live cast that this officiating crew averaged the most penalties called per game at like 16 or 17.
Give JJ a couple of Alu-minnium injections to fuse to his bones and he will be good to go. Maybe Skynet? I hear they are running a Christmas special…fml
During Eli Manning‘s rookie year, the New York receivers were dropping the balls like hot potatoes. I remember thinking they were doing it on purpose. Sometimes I think the players just have to get used to a quarterbacks throwing style.
Another jj meme 😆
That was on McCarthy, that ball is supposed to come out super quick. O’Neil is supposed to cover the B gap first, it doesn’t mater if Burns is uncovered. If he can’t get it to his man then you throw it out of bounds.
This may not mean much but Robert Smith was considered a draft bust both because he opted to prioritize education over football at The Ohio State, and because he missed a lot of games at the beginning of his career due to injury or illness. Then he was solid after that. Maybe, like Garp's house J J just needs to get the injuries out of the way.
Looking at McCarthy’s hands, it does look like he has smaller bone structure. 😬😬. He does not have big giant man hands.
Hopefully JJ is learning that it hurts to get hit in the NFL. I agree the edge shouldn’t be unblocked and that’s not on JJ. I just mean to say I hope that he prioritizes good decision making and his safety in general going forward and understands that going YOLO on a play can cause him to get hurt and miss several games, and that causes way more harm to the team than the good that would’ve came from any regular season play. Gotta save that stuff for the Super Bowl. Jaxson Dart is going through the same lesson with all of his concussions this year and refusing to go down. Seems like a badass move at the time until you get hurt
The officiating was poor yesterday. The thing that was worse… The broadcast. It was seriously embarrassing. The amount of dead air and random cut aways and bad transitions was REALLY noticeable.
I've said the same thing i do think he will be the best player on that side off the ball this year
IMHO, the play involving the McCarthy fumble & Giant's return for a TD was yet another example of KOC being too cute with his play-calling. I know that play worked earlier in yesterday's game (to the right I think..), but generally you're only going to fool the opposition once. I will repeat what I've been saying for a while…KOC's motto needs to be similar to this: "It is more important to out-play the opposition than it is to out-smart them." (..the game sealing run on 3rd down by Aaron Jones Sr. is a great example of this 'motto' being applied…)🤔
SKOL!!!
Two points regarding the officiating we saw yesterday & what their motivation may have been…
1. Having watched 50+ years of football, I have come to realize that NFL officiating influences games primarily by what the officials choose to ignore, not by what they choose to call. In yesterday's game, the penalty calls were all 'by the book' & technically correct. (…although they may have unintentionally missed a few due to the inherent speed of the game & human error..) The calls may have appeared to be 'picky' to some, but only because we are used to officials NOT applying the rule book as it was written. I will suggest that proper officiating looks more like yesterday's Vikings-Giants game than it does when, say, the Chiefs, Packers, or Lions play the Vikings. Last…trust me…if every game was called precisely by the book, then coaches & players would adjust their expectations & their play, and fans would see the number of penalties called drop significantly in short order.🤔
2. What was the motivation of yesterday's officiating crew? IMHO, it was three-fold: First, they wanted to show the league that they have a thorough knowledge of the rule book, as there is a year-end review for each official coming up. Second, they knew there wouldn't be any repercussions for interrupting a game that had no playoff implications & would not be watched by the majority of NFL fans. Third, they may have been lobbying to get at least one official picked to be among the playoff crews (.. the league chooses the best individual officials & then assembles brand new crews for the playoffs..).🤔
SKOL!!!
Keep looking at that hand and sooner or later you'll find a reason to sit him again. Didn't DJones play with a broken leg ?
