Went into this season with more excitement about our team than I’ve ever had. Just been absolutely zapped, and it can almost entirely be attributed to the Panthers game. Fuck them.
They will never be afraid to play that style but you can make it costly for them. You have to be willing to take suspensions and be just as amoral as they are. Few teams are. You have to be as willing to blatantly harm and injure them as they are you, accepting that the league is going to come down on you and not them due to the connection of their FO with league hockey ops. This also where your team governor needs to be willing to go to the league office and say ” do something about this shit or we will and you won’t like how I have them handle it”. Then that same team governor needs to be willing to take the PR hit when some career ECHLr tries to carve someones face off with a stick. On ice violence (in Minecraft) is the only way to stop a team that is above league accountability.

Out of curiosity, did anyone believe the “this was a pre-determined game that Slavin wasn’t scheduled to play” crap? We went to the TB game, and I had some very nice TB fans ask me why he wasn’t playing because they were worried he did get hurt by the Panthers. I said that fans were told it was a pre-determined game he was going to sit out since he was still recovering. They said they had never heard of that happening before, but that they hoped he was ok. I guess I was choosing to believe what we were told, but this sucks.
