  1. Nice, possibly a few years too late. He was a decent hitter for a bit but now he’s a drag in any lineup trying to compete. Mainly his play can’t back up his attitude these days. Enjoy Sacramento and evidently retirement!

  2. Mets are doing that thing in Scrabble where you can’t figure out a plan with what you have so you just turn in all your tiles for new ones

  3. Two things:

    1) The A’s get a solid 2B they can slot in to their lineup and roster given their current infield depth.

    2) This feels like the Mets are clearing the way to sign/go full steam ahead on a big FA infielder (Bo or Bregman come to mind).

  4. In one off season the Mets lost or got rid of all of their players that I dislike.

Who will I hate on now?

  5. FYI he’s coming off Thoracic Outlet Syndrome so any deal was going to be a salary dump

  6. Shout out to the longest tenured New York Met: 29 year-old grizzled veteran David Peterson.

  7. I mean we all kinda knew he was leaving eventually this off season after all the drama, just surprised more replacements haven’t been made.

  8. I like this trade for the Mets it opens up spots for benge or Williams to contribute meaningful time next year. McNeil is old and not great anymore, after not making the playoffs last year there needed to be big changes. I still think they should sign one of bichette, Tucker or belli but I like the direction they’re going in trying to get younger

  9. Damn, I know Jeff had his clubhouse issues but he was so fun to watch for a while there. He could just flick the ball wherever he wanted and played good defense all over the field

A’s are getting a really solid utility guy here if he’s recovered from his TOS surgery and I hope he can help the young guys keep improving

  10. Jeff is still a very solid player and gets a lot of undeserved hate. He’s not the contact king batting champion he was but he’s far from a liability. This is a great pickup for the A’s

  11. Sorry about sending you to the void Jeff. We knew you were leaving, but I didn’t want it to be so cold.

  12. The Sacramento Squirrel. Good luck and if you swear just know it’s a minor league stadium so more people will hear you

  13. At this point I need the Mets front office to come out publicly with what their plan is, I fear they’ve lost the plot

  14. Cohen, not broke. Strearns shedding money to add a bat, trade for walk year SP’s. Stearns won’t go past 3 yrs on FA SP. maybe banking on one of them to sign short deal, high AAV with opt outs.

Trade market should open up after Imai signs. Skubal is the white whale.

  15. About what I expected in return. He’s a starter in Sacramento but should be a utility guy on a contender and that’s not worth what he’s a making.

  16. Honestly this is a steal for the A’s to fill up arguably the biggest hole on their roster, assuming Gelof doesn’t fix his offense and assuming Muncy develops at 3B, and provides a veteran presence on the field.

Now they just need literally any pitching lmao. I know a lot of big pitchers aren’t going to want to pitch in Sacramento but like even dumpster diving for like Verlander, Sugano, and Marquez would be something cute to see

  17. it’s funny how they don’t field a competitive roster for 2 decades and then now they have all this money all of a sudden despite not being in vegas yet. surely MLB will be looking into this!!

  18. u/no_quarter89 pour some out for the full trade prediction. Another domino falls. This being the forst named player you predicted heading to a different team. So far it was just the speculation of Palanco playing first. But now we weep for what could have been an epic prediction.
