  1. This team is going to suck. They are stocking up on warm bodies to cover innings that won’t matter for this organization.

  2. Turns out the Cardinals are shopping in the Tarik Skubal market right now…

They are trying to rebuild depth.

  3. Welcome to the rebuild that we’ve needed for the last 5 years.

I will actually be excited about this team this year because at least they’re banking for the future. We have a little bit of decent talent in the minors (though admittedly less than I thought), and it will be interesting to see how those young guys perform at the big league level.

The last few years have been no fun at all because they’ve been acting like they were going to try and yet demonstrating that they had no concept of how the modern game had evolved away from them.

  4. This is not going to be a competitive year.  Best to just accept that.  We’re tanking and going into a rebuild.  Innings matter, bodies matter, stats don’t really matter this year unless it means young players are progressing.

  5. Good. We need bodies. Embrace the rebuild. It doesn’t make sense to have anyone good on the roster if we aren’t competing for a while.

  6. Move anyone of value for “blue chip” prospects.

Then sign a bunch of young guys who haven’t lived up to their potential and see if a different coaching staff can turn them around.

Caveat: I’m a doctor, not a GM candidate.
