So tonight’s game was anime night, and it came with this sweet ass ticket-pack Naruto themed jersey. I frankly love it.
What else was there though? I’ll preface this by saying I entirely missed the 1st period… because I was waiting in line for the promo item.
Throughout the first and second intermissions, during the game, there was no indication that this was a theme night at all from the in arena entertainment. We saw some people cosplaying as Naruto characters on the video board, but that’s it. None of the in-arena entertainers seemed to acknowledge it was a theme night, none of the music was themed, and there were no special animations on the video boards. Instead of having the crowd vote between 7 Nation Army and 1000 Miles for the third period song, why not some sick anime ops? Why not have some small tchotchke available for purchase in the team stores?
I feel pretty underwhelmed.

They had the voice actress for Naruto there to beat the drum in the first period along with some other VAs…but that was it. No music. No theming on the jumbotron. VERY underwhelming. The Dodgers did One Piece night very well in comparison

It was extremely underwhelming for being a themed night. This is the trajectory for these experiences unfortunately.
