  1. No team was eager to offer Munetaka Murakami a lucrative contract, but MLB saw his potential as a revenue generator in the American market. They likely pressured the Chicago White Sox into signing him, giving him a chance to demonstrate his skills at the major league level. Mark my words: if he proves himself in the majors, he'll be traded at the deadline. He's essentially just a trade asset.

  2. White sox fan, I'm fucking pumped. The team was just a couple games below .500 post all star break last year, and that was without much help from the bats most of the way. The white sox are ready to start playing some real meaningful baseball again.

  3. As a Redsox fan, Wilson Contreras was the right move after losing out on Alonso. As long as we sign Bregman or Bichette I think this will all work out pretty well. I think Ketel Marte should be out of the picture after all the trades we’ve made already unless we trade for a good starting pitcher.

  4. As a Sox fan this is huge I think people under estimate what the young core can do they were a .500 team in the second half and have only gotten better

  5. I think it shows how deep the Pirates pitching is that Rosey is most excited about Burrows going to the Astros. I really like Burrows and will miss him and will root for him when we are not playing the Astros, but his ceiling was as a 4th starter in our rotation. Hopefully he really develops much farther with Houston but I love what the Pirates got back in this trade.

  6. If you get traded during the season, you can no longer be offered the qualifying offer, if it’s before the season starts.. you can absolutely be extended the qualifying offer.

  7. Shocked that the Mets didnt go after Murakami considering they let Alonso walk and the Japanese market money. Really thought Cohen was gonna try to get both him and Imai

  8. Wilson Contreras is among a group of players whose egos are so inflated they think it’s appropriate to draw and write stuff rather large in the dirt by home plate. A dead dad is not bigger than the 100+ years of tradition and respect for the game and the field….and i think Roger Maris would agree. 17 other guys have to step over it all day lol

  9. Not sure what it says about the NPB and poewr hitters, but isn't the single season HR hitter a guy that couldn't cut it in MLB any longer, if he ever could? The Japanese try to hide this fact, but Coco Balentien hit 60 dingers in an NPB season, and only 16 in his MBL career. Sure, juiced ball and all that, but that not a 35 difference make

  10. this Murakami couldnt of gone to a worst hitting developing team than the wsox. if he panes out, he wont be on a winning team whatsoever so he can bounce quick.

  11. The group that owns the red sox are investing heavily in diversification (as in … owning teams in lots of different sports). However it seems pretty evident that they are absolutely disinterested in signing major free agents and getting burned on contracts, and perpetually living in a division where the rays constantly beat them with a tiny payroll. They do not want any free agents with QA attached, they value draft picks too much. I honestly think their plan is to generally try to be runners up for free agents so they can say to their fans "well we tried!" with no real intention of signing anyone.

  12. Question for coach trev and rosey! Ik this isnt a tigers podcast and yall talked a bit about skubs in the last show i believe, my question is- whats y'alls take on skub making the rounds this past week at different michigan based sporting events?? Michigan state basketball, pistons basketball, red wings hockey, and wrapping it up at the lions game on sunday? Furthermore on his Instagram story he posted a glimpse of comerica park with the caption "missing you🏡", whats your guys take on all of this? Is he crying out to the illitches to give him a genuine contract offer? Or is it a farewell bid to the city/state of michigan?

  13. Uncharacteristically AWFUL takes from Rosey in the Red Sox segment. They spent on Bregman less than a full year ago, and they CLEARLY want him back. Sure, they haven’t spent to their fullest the past few years, but that was also a rebuild (whether they said it or not). I understand he’s not super close to the SoxSphere or anything, but implying Casas has no future, and there’s no chance for Breggy to return are both way off base

  14. So the Red Sox needed bregmans leadership and have replaced him with a guy who got suspended for contact with an ump and hitting a coach with a bat he threw, great replacement😂. Baz has only pitched over 100 innings once and he got rocked, not sure he is a potential opening day starter.

  15. only buy a jersey with your lastname letters included so when the player gets traded you could turn it to your own custom jersey

  16. Happy Holidays, guys! Just wanted to thank you for all the high-quality infotainment year round. Also Trev… you made a noticeable uptick in your game this year…. I was that guy on reddit that always joked how you're a perfectly average sports analyst.. good news buddy. You broke well over .500 by my count this year!

  17. If Munetaka plays well over the next two years—or even in his first season—he’ll be traded to the Dodgers as the eventual replacement for future Hall of Famer Freddie Freeman.
