James, who has a record-breaking 20th Christmas Day appearances, also remains the all-time leader in points (507), games played, and victories (11).
During the 2023 NBA season, Dončić (50 points) became the fourth player to score 50 or more points in a Christmas Day game, joining Bernard King (60 in 1984), Wilt Chamberlain (59 in 1961), and Rick Barry (50 in 1966).

This game marks the first time that the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets will meet on Christmas Day.
Last year, Anthony Edwards made his Christmas debut, scoring 26 points in the contest against the Dallas Mavericks and coming away with the win.
