Nobody's surprised Fritzy only cares about the food at the game
Paul is delusional thinking any team will allow the weather in. If KC has a dome, they will have that closed in the playoffs because it will be cold to rainy outside for ownership. Same thing with Chicago where they market how they like the cold, but they want a stadium like the Raiders where it's inside. Then they blame the cold weather for low scores, or fans not wanting to come if it's a December game with no meaning, selling more hot chocolate than cold beer, etc.
The Broncos have had 3 "weather games" in the last 25 seasons. And most modern fields are heated now
I appreciate Dan calling out the NFL/Owners for fans making them pay for the stadium, then gouge them on parking to etc. It is an abusive relationship. I grew up as a St. Louis Rams fan, and I was sad how they left, but I am glad the city didn't cave and gave everything to a POS like Stan Kroenke. To be fair, Stan wanted to move it since the media market on paper would increase their value no matter what. I just wish they, aka him and the NFL, were man enough and just say it's about money to value over lying about no fan support after multiple years of sellouts.
I digress, but I wish more and more cities and fans say, we support the team, but not public funds for your billion dollar company that you should cover yourself when it comes to facilities. Eventually if no one caved in, then owners can't be like, "I will now move the team who will give me most of my multi-billion dollar stadium where I keep all the profits and socialize the costs." Sadly too many cities and areas cave in on glorified promises about jobs or the economy that studies show how it doesn't pay off.
We all know its going to be called Trump is the Greatest Stadium, …. everything else is going that way !!!
Chiefs fans have never once asked for a new stadium.
Sales tax
As long as owners keep naming the stadiums after pharmaceutical companies I'm happy.
The public are the owners and the customers, but get none of the profit… That's like me charging myself to mow my own lawn and then giving the money I made away….. City councils are the most corrupt people in the world… Did you know they buy the land for Walmart, build the building and give them huge tax breaks…. Why would you subsidize one of the biggest richest companies in the world?
It's all just so greedy. They build a new stadium so they can generate more revenue not just with football games but, as Dan said, with concerts, Final 4 games, Superbowls, etc. And I wouldn't have an issue with that were the community to benefit, but it never does. The fans end up paying for it. They pay the building costs, the parking, taxes, everything. Their tickets get more expensive to the point where normal people are priced out. Look at what's happening in Buffalo, the taxpayers and PSL holders are paying for everything. And owners and NFL executives always justify it by saying the local economy will benefit from a new stadium. It never, ever works out that way. And meanwhile, we lose the old places that had a lot more character to them.
People don't want to travel into poor slum cities with shootings and muggings and drugs and cities are congested and just dirty these days. This isn't the 1950's where people wore their Sunday best to the games and cities were clean there weren't bums sleeping on the streets or overdosed addicts passed out or physical human shit on the sidewalks and over flowing trash
Vikings haven't had an open air stadium in over 40 years. And they'd be insane to do so. It gets way colder than it does in other places like gb, chicago, or kc. It could legitimately be ice bowl weather once a year, and -20 for a playoff game.
70 percent, public funded… They ( Kansas),fell for the oldest trick in the book
What a joke. Taxpayers paying for a multi-billionaire's stadium. Again.
Kansas was not interested in this deal all these years; the recent success of the Chiefs WAS the catalyst. With Kansas City Chiefs returning to its default state of irrelevance, Kansas will not complete this dome.
If you live in Kansas and donβt care about your tax money, youβre happy. π
Soccer?ππππππππ
Not a fan of domes. We saw this trend before and then teams like Seattle moved outside and gained a huge advantage at Lumin they lacked with the Kingdome
Nah. I want all the players play the biggest games in ideal conditions.
How stupid are people who would agree to giving their tax dollars to support a billionaire owner, who has a multi billion dollar franchise, to build him a stadium? That they still have to pay hundreds of dollars to get in too, spend hundreds on food, for 3 hours of BS. And the NFL or the billionaire owner don't even give a rats furry behind about their fans. ππ
1.8 billion from Kansas ππ. They got fleeced. All that revenue is going to the Hunt family. That is the dynamic for small market teams. If any big city pays up to the NFL they are suckers. One thing is if you're Buffalo or KC but if Chicago or LA even think of doing this they're idiots. Also KC just lost their home field advantages.
the kingdom purists' are not happy. nothing can replace arrowhead, plus in 2031 they will inevitably play on plastic.over concrete., they wouldve stayed but the politicos of mizzou are fifedoms. ks was unified, county, city and state all 1
Seton is such a democrat. And not one of the productive onesβone of the idealist utopia ones.
IMHO they need a QB more than a stadium with ticket prices fans can't afford.
