Never forget what they took from us.

  1. This was such a phenomenal catch. I wish it was ruled as such. That would have been 5 touchdowns by 5 different receivers.

  2. The risk of losing a timeout on a challenge was too high at that point of the game. Glad he didn’t challenge it, even though it was a legit TD. Imagine if a couple fluke calls had let the Colts catch up and 49ers needed the time to set up a field goal.

  3. Between this and the Aiyuk Drop against Seattle, that part of the end zone is cursed for Purdy and awesome throws.

  4. The catch was great, but equally impressive was Brock’s play to get the ball there. Left 2 lineman on the ground with his rollout then fired a dot as he was up against the sideline

  5. Kyle should fire the guy who’s feeding him bad challenge calls. That was a clear TD. What a fucking joke.

  6. They cut CMCs first tuddy from the highlight reel but show this replay lol. And the suss PI call. I think they use AI to splice those films so quick after the game and always be wrong.

  7. Kyle needs to get him in the offense more because dude has great hands and I just don’t get how he completely disappeared after Kittle came back

  8. This would have been sweet redemption for Aiyuk dropping that crazy scramble drill TD pass against Seattle in the playoffs. Ugh! Good thing we scored right after.

  9. I think sometimes the refs are just like “nah this dude isn’t that nice no way he caught that”

  10. Back to back TD plays from Purdy, as if he’s not great already.

But this one cements Tonges as a pass threat if he wasn’t considered such.

He may not be as great as Kittle but who the hell is?

  11. Has anybody actually reviewed the film on that to confirm his right toe hit the ground **after** he had the ball in his hands?

Left toe? Definitely. Caught the ball and controlled?yes. His right toe was absolutely dragging just before he caught the ball. Yet, it does lift off the ground – was it simultaneous with ball control?

No doubt it was an incredible catch. Shanahan in presser said that hurry up offense and a little hesitancy after failed prior challenge is why he didn’t challenge. Doesn’t matter given next play, although sorry if Tonges was “robbed.” So I’m just curious if anyone has seen video review confirming right toe drag – sufficient to overturn call on the field.

  12. They should’ve at least ruled it a catch so they can automatically review it to get a better look since it’s a scoring play

  13. Yo I straight up said pass it to Tonges RIGHT BEFORE this play. I was with my family and they were amazed but yea, Shanahan is known to challenge bad plays lol

  14. Question: Why did they just immediately run another play? There was no pause, no thought, no questioning. Brock just called the huddle play, hustled up to the line, and got a play off.

Agree this was a legit TD, at least worth a closer look. But the 9ers took this away from themselves.

  15. Ray Charles & Stevie Wonder could see that was a TD, it’s just the refs that couldn’t 🙄

  16. Yeah but we scored the very next play.. I would’ve been pissed if we didn’t and lost possession

  17. Guaranteed the coaches have this screenshot and will give Tonges his credit during film/meetings this week. What a damn catch he got robbed of!
