We can’t really trade for him. Only offer that makes sense is Conley + Rob which is not going to happen. Outside of that you have to trade Randle, DDV, Naz or Jaden which makes 0 sense.

Donte/Dillingham match but thats a clear overpay. Maybe something like Donte to a playoff team who needs shooting for a contact/ 1st rd pick, Contract/Dillingham for Sexton, even that feels like an overpay. Not really sure if the Hornets would have interest in Dillingham either. So probably would have to find a team with interest, maybe the Wizards? Maybe Dillingham for some 2nds, send 2nds to Hornets.
Beyond that youd have to likely get Randle’s contract involved which Sexton is clearly less then. So they’re looking to get picks to likely use in another trade, which makes some sense, since Randle for which ever PG likely isn’t gonna be a 1 for 1 swap. Overall Hornets are the third team providing picks/ expirings to swap for another player.

and the expiring + salary match doesn’t make it any better
imo this is one of the worst options available
Sure feels like we are just checking in on everything. Which seems like a smart idea. Kick the tires, see what else you can get in a trade.
Issues abound with this one. Sexton is the most combo of combo guards of everyone we’ve been rumored to. I’d like him as a six man, but he doesn’t solve anything for us DDV isn’t already solving. He’s also injured a lot (he missed the last 7 this year). The hornets are thin at our other position of need, center. I like Moussa, and he’d be cheap, but they can’t give any big up, and he complicates a salary match instead of helping it.
He’s not worth a Randle or Naz by himself, and they don’t have anything else we want and they would give up. This feels like it’d have to be a three team trade, in which case it’s impossible to speculate or judge as it stands.
This goes in the ever growing “depends on what we give up and get back” pile of rumors.
I think that he’s a decent fit, but we would need picks coming back because anyone we would send out would be an overpay talent-wise. I don’t think Charlotte wants to part with picks to dump his expiring salary
I liked him a lot as a target last summer, but he turns the ball over a lot, he shouldn’t cost much at all, and won’t make the same amount of money on his next extension I would assume.
