Is this really the best foot forward for our organization though?
Okamoto is 29 years old, sure mashing in Japan but still needs to acclimate to MLB pitching. He (unfortunately) won’t have much line up support so he will likely get pitched around often. Also what made Murakami attractive is that we needed a lefty bat, at a good price no problem but at a projected 5 year contract we might be muddying the waters.
