The 2025-26 Winnipeg Jets Christmas Wishlist Is HERE!
The Winnipeg Jets season has been a bit of a bag of coal, but beneath the grit and grime, a present may be waiting for Jets fans. What might be on our wishlist for the remainder of this season, and perhaps, for the years after? Is it time to fall for the tank and go all-in for a top pick? Will Santa be kind enough to let us see more of the Jets youth competing for roster time this year and next? Can the Jets give fans the gift of a long-term vision for how to get the club back on track?

Merry Jetsmas, Harrison!! 🎄
Best hockey channel out there.
All the best to you and your fam 🙏
My holiday wishlist for our team:
Being in the top 3 in this year’s draft to draft Gavin McKenna
Scott Arniel & Kevin Chevy fired & replaced with Jeff Gorton as GM & Marc Savard as HC.
Gorten & Savard most definitely can work because Gorten signed Savard to the Bruins in 2005 when he was a GM.
I also would like to trade for depth. Players like Cody Glass, K’andre Miller & Ukko Pels Luukonnen.

This is my thinking. The Jets' trade deadline acquisitions showed the rest of the league that they're not serious. This org wants to talk like it's a true contender, and give the look of a true contender, but they're not willing to do what is necessary to become a true a contender. And this is what I think plays a part into why Winnipeg is not attractive. Yeah, it's cold & small. but the perception is also out there, after the TDL and this summer, that this org is not really serious about contending. Why would a free agent choose to come to Winnipeg when the GM is making bargain basement moves, and gaslighting folks with "we're all in?" They're not serious.
Vegas and Florida are more desirable places for free agents with the weather obviously, but a big part is also how aggressive their front offices are in the pursuit of winning. That's what draws the attention of free agents. The nice weather is just a bonus. I'm pretty sure if the front offices for those teams were making moves like the Jets, players wouldn't want to come, regardless of the weather. Just look at Florida before Bill Zito.
If the Jets' front office had this type of mindset, they probably would attract free agents. They would take note of the bold front office moves, and they wouldn't care about the cold weather or small market. It would be worth it to them.
This is why I get tired of hearing people constantly absolve Chevy of his failings, saying he has the hardest GM job in the league. It's been 15 seasons and the market is the market, so it's his job to figure it out. And since he still hasn't, he needs to be the one who's fired first.
Harrison: I will also ask you this later in the season but, If draft were held "tomorrow" and you were GM, what "one person" would you pick right now, if Jets had top pick? Is it Lawrence? I'm probably going to get backlash for this because everyone says Jets need offence. But right now I'd pick Verhoeff. A right shot defensemen with his size and skill is like a needle in a haystack. And if me becomes the next Doughty like everyone predicts? Man oh Man! Even if you don't need a defenseman imagine who you could trade him for?
