TIL for the 2021 pre-season, the “captain/alternate” patches had a secondary twill outline, which was abandoned soon into the regular season b/c of how huge it made the patches on the chest.

So basically, the road uniforms had a black body and a teal outline, and the home uniforms had a teal body and a black outline.

After he was named captain before the regular season opener, Giordano wore a "C" patch with this style for the open practice sessions, but by the home opener they had switched to the current C & A patches which were one solid color without an outline.
