WARNING: Trey Murphy III Trade Rumors That New Orleans Pelicans Need to IGNORE Immediately

New Orleans Pelicans face swirling trade rumors, but moving Trey Murphy III—even for a star package—could spell disaster for the team’s momentum. Is maximizing “value” worth sabotaging fan excitement and on-court chemistry? Jake Madison makes a passionate case against dealing core pieces like Trey Murphy and explores why the front office should resist short-term moves that diminish their competitive edge.

Key topics include Memphis Grizzlies’ missteps in the Desmond Bane deal, the evolving role of Sadiq Bey, and the importance of building around rising stars Derik Queen and Jeremiah Fears. The show dissects Zion Williamson’s unique contract situation and explains why holding steady at the trade deadline sets up the Pelicans for long-term success, on and off the court. Can the Smoothie King Center stay electric if the team avoids major shake-ups? Catch this must-hear analysis of the Pelicans’ strategy.

  1. Please send him to the Knicks. You guys moved ahead of the Knicks to draft him. He was supposed to be a 2nd round pick. The Knicks targeted him, and somehow the Pelicans found out and moved up to get him.

  2. To me, it's health. If you could tell me TMIII, Zion, Jose, and Herb will stay healthy, I would roll with this team. But those four are so soft. It's just a matter of weeks until they're all on the injury list again. Trade them while they have value and surround Fears and Queen with players who can stay on the court.

  3. I saw a possible trade with Portland that would make you think about it? Trey Murphy for Sheldon Sharpe plus 4 unprotected 1's and a pick swap.

  4. Hard disagree about Zion. Just move him asap as long as he still has value. 7 years are enough, this guy is unreliable, injury prone and doesn't want to improve his game. Still no shoots after 7 years.

This 5 win streak was nice but must not make forget the very poor start of the season. Time to build a New Era around Queen and Fears. Murphy, Jones, Bey, Matkovic should be kept. Convert McGowens to a real contract as before with Alvarado. Zion and Hawkins should be the first to be moved. May also moved Alvarado who will seek a bigger contract soon. Missi should be moved also, he is young and fit Queen/Fears timeline but he isn't a nba player, too raw, no offensive moves, overrated rim protection. He is just a great athlete, not basketball player. Borrego already noticed it and started to DNP him

Move Poole next season as expiring contract and Murray who will want to play for a contender

  5. Trey hasn't been as efficient as i would have hoped this year i think he needs more of a definitive role on offense his best asset is shooting 3s him not taking them at a high value kills the spacing in half court sets also DQ, Fears, and Z should be collapsing the D and helping get him open 3s
