Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin underwent successful surgery on Tuesday, December 16th to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Seguin has been through plenty of injury rehabs and typically approaches his recovery like a mad scientist, setting up rehab rooms in his house, buying special equipment and doing everything he can to get back to action faster than the doctors projections. When the Stars announced Seguin’s surgery, they did not rule him out for the rest of the 2025-26 season and the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs, simply stating that Seguin would be “reevaluated after the Olympic break.” So, the DLLS Stars crew debates the topic: Should the Stars save Tyler Seguin from himself and shut him down?

  1. I say the opposite. Play Seguin INTENSELY until his body gives out and he physically expires. This is HOCKEY not Home Ec. You PLAY or you DIE. Your BLOOD exists to lubricate the ICE for the NEXT MAN UP to USE to CRUSH your ENEMIES if your feeble body is TOO WEAK to FIGHT ON.

    That's what my coach always said. What's good for the goose…. 🙂

  2. No question it’s LTIR. This opportunity right now with this team will not present itself again. He won’t be ready, full stop. This is best for the team and for Tyler.

  5. Tyler should take the full recovery period. He's not "young" and has had multiple surgeries. Being able to walk and do thing with his family after he retires is way more important than any sport.

  7. During his 1000th celebration, I was amazed he was even walking, tough guy, love him, but it's a bigger picture time. We need a cup, he should make the decision himself

  8. I think that it depends on the opportunity. If a player becomes available that will absolutely move the needle for the Stars in the post-season, talk to Seguin about getting ready for next season, move him to SELTIR and make the deal.
