this was one of the highest upvoted posts of this subreddit, let’s be honest and admit the popular opinion was to not sign aaron rodgers and look how the tables have turned 🥹
Bunch of you morons really told me Rudolph would be better than Rodgers lmao. Even saw people say he had top 10 potential.
Merry Christmas! I believe in dinosaurs no not Mediocre Mike! Science doesn’t support religion.
Speaking personally as someone that didn’t want Rodgers, I didn’t want him for the same reason I didn’t want Shedeur, for the drama and the media circus that seemed to follow them.
Rodgers has acted pretty professionally since signing with us. Maybe the team culture is rubbing off on him, who knows. I’m still not rah rah for the guy but I can at least acknowledge the progress, and his play on the field is at least not god awful. We’ll see how the rest of his time here shakes out before passing further judgment
I’m not calling it a success unless we win a playoff game; keeping in the same cycle of being good not great isn’t gonna get us anywhere going forward. That being said, he is playing better and staying out of the spotlight more than I had expected.
Rodgers is playing better than when he was a Jet and has behaved in public. I didn’t want to roll the dice on those trends reversing, but I’m happy with the results so far.
I also said at the time if you win the Steelers a game you get the benefit of the doubt and he’s done that enough. Still owes us a Superbowl.
i’m glad to say i ate my words on Rodgers
u/jpb59 you’ve been summoned
Yeah I was wrong about Rodgers. Not really because of the “drama” surrounding him, but I thought he was washed and felt comfortable enough with Mason. I thought he’d be able to game-manage enough to get us 9 or 10 wins and our defense would dominate enough to make the season fun enough to watch, but probably miss the playoffs because the Bengals and Ravens were going to go 13-4 or something like that. Turns out I was wrong on pretty much everything, and yet here we are at 9-6 with a likely (but not certain) playoff berth and a solid season with Aaron as QB. I can admit I was wrong and I’m a fan of Rodgers (the football player). If we don’t make it to the Super Bowl, I hope he comes back one more year.
My brother said he wouldn’t be surprised if they lost out after the bills game.. He needs to repent
I’m guilty of believing Rodgers would be a locker room cancer. Turns out that he’s a glue guy that not only keeps the vibes good, he also holds teammates accountable and is a coach on the field.
The hot 🎤 during the lions game cracked me up when Jonnu smith was doing the wrong motion during a play and Rodgers yells “what the f*** are you doing!?!”. That’s something that never happened since Ben retired.
I am grateful for Kenny Gainewell! Thank you universe.
How about everyone calling for tomlins head and then he put a great product on the field even without tj watt
This is a Steelers site not a religious site if you want to talk religion go there@
I wasn’t initially sold on Rogers, but I figured he’d be able to actually lead the team, unlike Rudolph! I was right about the leadership!
I didn’t think he had much left, but I am happy to be wrong.
He’s still not a good human but I guess being good at football means we must say good things about him
I don’t him, I don’t like Big Ben, I don’t like rooting for shitty people
Don’t understand how that’s controversial
It’s crazy to me that people didn’t think ARod was gonna be good. They focus way too much on his time in NY. He was still great in GB. He played only 1 single play year one with NY because of an injury. Year two it was clear and he did not shy away from the fact he hated it there and didn’t like the front office nor the coaching staff. Despite that statistically he didn’t play bad at all. All of that was overshadowed by the medias willingness to make him a villain.
He comes in here and he clearly loves the team, adores Mike Tomlin and enjoys the city. We didn’t see him going out to hockey games with the Jets and shit. He looks happy out there. And he’s taken an offense that was ABYSMAL last year and turned us into a team that really is capable of a run if the defense can hold up.
This is a lot to say that I think many people were jaded by media on this guy. You can hate his personality if you want. You can hate his politics if you want. But this is the guy we needed. I hope he stays another year.
Rudolph is better, because all I want for Christmas is Tomlin to be fired and Rudolph will tank the team. I’m tired of 8-8, 9-7, 9-8, no playoff wins, no chance of Super bowl, mid-late first round picks. I believe in Khan. I’m sick of Tomlin, the team needs a change. Bring on the downvotes!
Arod has more career playoff wins than all the other AFC playoff (likely) bound teams.
Kenneth Im sorry for insinuating your middle name was “Does not” at the start of the season. If you ever read this I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me, oh and average a buck fifty for the next 7 games.
We spend a LOT of time in this sub shooting at others inside the tent. It gets tiresome.
How about: Merry Christmas – let’s get this 7th chip!
(And fuck Tom Brady).
I get how Steelers fans were fooled by media nonsense surrounding Rodgers, with some still dying on that hill, but it’s absolutely insane to me how many were fully behind starting Mason 9 months ago. Not even for tanking purposes, even though that’s how they’ll spin it now, but believing Mason deserved the starting job and gave the Steelers as much of a chance of winning football games as Rodgers. Glad that’s over.
I’m so happy the “We should just roll with Mason crowd” has a put a fucken sock in it. The rose tinted glasses yinzers had on with him was wild.
As if we didn’t already see that movie
I got downvoted into oblivion when I said Rodger’s would be our best option over Fields & Russ. A guy who shall remain unnamed commented under my comment saying how it wouldn’t work with Rodgers and he got upvoted into the heavens. 😂
People let the media and social media hiveminds determine their own opinions way too much. There was no evidence that Rodgers ever was a bad teammate, most NFL players actually love him, and you’d think he murdered someone the way people talked about him just for having some bad opinions
OK but that Air Bud back and forth was pretty good
