Always wondered why he never became a manager. However, I know the answer. MLB was afraid he might try to integrate the game. He played in the Caribbean during the winter and knew black players could play, Bo Jangles was also one of his best friends and he loved to party in Harlem. The Sultan of Swat!
ALLEGEDLY his biracialness is why he and Ty Cobb had beef
Some have said he may actually be Dominican.
I’m certain he didn’t discriminate when it came to his, ahem, friends on the road.
