Sugar Bowl Committee President Dorothy “Dottie” Reese attended the event and praised the tournament.
“It was an exciting opportunity to be out here today to support the youth and this championship tournament,” Reese said. “We have representation from 16 states across this country, and they’re all champions.”

The tournament honors Tommy Moore, a standout junior golfer from the New Orleans area who was ranked No. 1 in the Golf Digest Junior World Rankings in 1980 and later became an All-American and national champion at Oklahoma State. Moore played three seasons on the PGA Tour before dying at age 35 from a rare blood disease.
The event is produced by the Kelly Gibson Foundation in partnership with the Allstate Sugar Bowl and marked its 15th year.
