No wait don’t talk about us. No jinxing
He just said in the review that every time he does a video on Detroit they collapse. The fucker.
As usual with THG, no meaningful analysis here. Just reading basic stats off of a white board that we can all see easily.
Hockey Psychology also has a track record of teams falling off after a spotlight video. We had a track record of falling off in December ourselves. Pushing past the superstition is just one more step in the simple realization: wheel team good
I feel like this was a video made so that people will finally consider us a playoff contender this year, we are only getting better this season. We’ve got 3 W’s under our belt without Kane, our primary goalie is hot AF and our second goalie has been solid all season. Our star defender is a Norris trophy consideration…

I’m pretty sure he also said something similar last month as well, saying “well let’s see what they look like in December”. Everyone just loves to hate lol

Can’t have it both ways, folks. The Athletic does a power ranking and puts us 15 and the comments are all “Detroit has a top five record and you rank them 15, no respect, Detroit versus Everybody” and then someone spotlights us and we complain about that too

It cracks me up how… tempered, everyone’s optimism is on the Wings. And, I get it. We’ve been streaky and soft, and this could easily slip away from us. I feel the same way as Shannon here, we’ll see.
I was talking to a Habs fan recently about Toronto, and he said something to me like “Of course you guys will make the playoffs.” and I was like, “yeah, we’ll see.” If you’ve been paying attention for the last like 5 seasons, you know what I’m talking about: this could totally slip away.
That said, this teams looks different. The team looks mentally tough. They look confident. Even when they drop a game, they come right back the next game kicking ass. Also, when they lose a key piece to the line up, they can still win, and play through it. The team is different this year. They are *much* tougher, and it is very satisfying to watch.
Yeah, I’m optimistic, but it is tempered. There is a lot of work to do, still, just to make the playoffs.
He’s been saying the same things about us, the fans, as broadcasters. Wings fans jump on anyone for not talking about us enough. Are we sensitive through 10 years of irrelevency after being a big deal for so long?
Last year he talked about us and believed in us. The year before too. And we’d collapse right after. And he’s talked about that too.
He wants us to win. He agrees the league is better when the wings are good. But let’s stay under the radar a little longer.
