  1. are you talking about the Stafford trade? I think Detroit got a good few years with Goff, they got their money’s worth

  2. did you really expect a shitty franchise to tie you guys in super bowls in the span of a few years? lmao

  3. Let’s take a step back and evaluate the lions before the trade and after the trade. Then let’s decide what they rather have.

  4. As a Timberwolves fan I get it, when you’ve been bad for so long even those years where you look competent are a blessing.

Sorry lions bros I honestly think you’ll be better next year

  5. Rams don’t need draft capital when they can get a top 5 WR in the 5th round some fucking how lol

  6. I still think win-win but not for the same goals. Rams win the obvious one, winning a SB. The Lions win by becoming relevant and fun to watch these past few years. The trade feels forever ago now and teams need to continue to evolve. Anything happening nowadays is based on trajectory since the trade and not necessarily due to the pieces of the trade.

  7. The Lions went from a laughingstock who had a 5-6 win frisky ceiling to a team who can compete. Still think both came out ahead of where they’d have been without

  8. Nah, we weren’t having the last couple of years without the Stafford trade, and we’re not having the next couple of years without it either. This is a down year, but not the end of the Campbell/Holmes era.

  9. We got one more year to get a Superbowl. Reasoning there is, after the Rams got theirs, they had the worst season by a defending Super Bowl champion, made the play offs the next year only to get bounced by the Lions, and lost in the divisional round the next year to the Eagles. In other words….they have a Super Bowl, a couple good play off seasons, and a *bad* season following their Super Bowl win, as a complete team following that trade….the Lions, after being able to put their acquired draft picks to full use as a complete team, have 2 good play off seasons and 1 *bad* season (this one)….its Super Bowl or bust next year, with that insane copium logic I’m using.

  10. I know this is a meme, but “winning” the trade isn’t about Stafford vs Goff. Stafford is better, and that’s why the Rams paid so much draft capital for him. What matters is if both/either team got better after the trade. Compare pre-trade to post-trade. Rams needed Stafford as a final piece to go all-in. Lions went from being arguably the worst team in the NFL to a Super Bowl contender. If anything, the Lions had a bigger improvement from the trade due to all those picks, not just comparing Stafford and Goff.
