Eh this is silly
When he’s on his usual game his offensive output more than makes up for his lack of defense
I came to check the sub to see if this was posted.
Cavs have a PG that’s nonexistent on defense and a center that’s nonexistent in rebounding.
The Cavs are high on them, and I can understand it to an extent. But their flaws aren’t minor. They lose games. They lose series. And while they can be “good,” they are not great enough in other areas to make up for their very clear deficiencies
No shit he has a net negative rating right now, the man had no training camp and was coming off a brutal toe injury. Darius has only really started to put together any consistency in his game the last few games, which has been reflected in how much better our team has looked out there the last 3 games. His defense will never be great, or even average. However, we can get by with slight below average defense (which is manageable when he is healthy, look at last season) if he looks like the dominant offense force he is when healthy.
Terrible take and honestly Fedor should be ashamed of putting out this tweet. He’s clearly trying to spin a very questionable narrative right now. Allen is a much bigger problem right now than Darius is.

I feel like this is pretty heavily skewed due to several reasons
With healthy DG on the floor last year, cavs had the best offensive rating of all time. Its easy to focus on him as a target on defense of you look at those stats, but you gotta look at the greater context, and his impact on offense is much better than his malice on defense. Pretty obvious in fact

What a dickish time to state this. He’s been getting better and better and been excellent these last few games. He was like -6.7 before this 3 game stretch. Again, use common sense: He JUST PLAYED 75gms and was +9.9 for the entire season! Whatever his defensive limitations his offensive contributions completely offset it by a massive margin. And we entered that Pacers series 68-18 on the year and then suddenly lost 4 out of 5. I’m sure that was because Garland is too small and can’t play defense, right?

Oh yeah I’m convinced these 16gms prove he’s just too weak defensively. Let’s not discuss that we tied the greatest OFF Rating of all time with him on the floor last year and set a record for eFG% 🙄
