So SGA is admitting the obvious but our fans for some reason are acting like what we just saw in those 3 games is no big deal lol. Ok

SGA has an elite mindset
When he says get better, he doesn’t mean trading away everyone on the team. He means this team gets better by working at it
Facts. We could win every single game the rest of the season and I’d still be very concerned playing the Spurs in the playoffs
His answer was better than j dub
I’d still rather play the spurs in the playoffs instead of the nuggets
I’ve never seen such infighting between a fan base for a team that is 26-5. You boys got spoiled extremely fast.
That’s the exact answer you want to hear. There’s a difference between being good enough to beat a team and going out there and executing to get the job done. What he’s saying is what they’ve been doing hasn’t been good enough. And he’s right.
He’s not saying I’d trade my team for theirs.
They absolutely are better. In December. Right now.
I love the comments from SGA.
The fact of the matter is really that we performed well through the easy portion of the schedule, and are now struggling once the going’s gotten tough. Really need to see some improvement from everyone from players to staff as we face contending teams moving forward.
It’s concerning, of course, but we’re lucky to see these issues in December rather than April. I’m uneasy considering the last couple weeks of games, but luckily time is on our side for the time being.
God yall are so insufferable
Banners aren’t raised in December.
Now they have clear path on what they need to get better at.
Of course the lead dawg is gonna say this publically as he should
I don’t think trade would do anything. People can talk about getting a shooter but they never seem to understand that *EVERY* shooter goes through a slump because it’s the variance of shooting. If there was a person that shot 36% or above every night he would be a greater shooter shooter than Curry. Then you would have to get multiple players which means you would have to trade multiple people.
Then the #1 issue we had was on the defensive end with Keldon Johnson, Harrison Barnes, and Dylan Harper. We just don’t have enough big wings, which is one thing that I have hoped we drafted the past couple of years. As good as our drafting is they don’t like to draft big wings even in the latter rounds. We’ve missed out on several that were available that have turned out good Jalen Wells, Kobe Sanders, Jaylon Tyson, Tristan Da Silvia, Keyshawn George, Terrance Shannon JR, Ryan Dunn, Kyle Filipowski, Oso Igidoro, Kal El (I know he isn’t a big wing but he could play along side Chet), Asa Newell all players I wanted the Thunder to get could’ve gotten them and even brought them over in the pre draft. JDub isn’t enough as teams have multiple big wings.
I don’t care if Topic becomes a hall of game player we didn’t need him. Sam I believe was just being greedy. With our current roster it’s going to take a lot of growing to get over the limitations over our size positionally. Over the last couple years it hasn’t been centers, guards, or forwards that have given us trouble it’s been the big wings Spurs, Minnesota, Dallas, Lakers, Houston, Denver, Portland all of these teams have multiple big wings to attack our inside guys. That’s something a trade cannot fix
Guess it ain’t too early for the Shai needs help narrative. We all saw how the Thunder offense went on droughts, Game 7 against Indy is definitely the one that stands out with Shai and J-Dub being the only consistent shot creators.
We didn’t have Finals J-Dub the past few games and Shai had his off night in this last one. We can learn from parallels, trading Pippen for Shawn Kemp would’ve made the whole Michael Jordan narrative different.
I believe in our guys to step up starting with J-Dub, J-Will, Ajay, Cason, Aaron Wiggins, Isaiah Joe, and especially Chet, I hope he learns to not give af about the negative stuff others say and he’ll focus on doing all he can to improve and be a viable offensive threat. He doesn’t need to be Wemby coz Wemby doesn’t have Shai with him. But he can learn from Draymond Green, same guy in those highlights that Wemby dunked on but is proud to say he made life for Wemby difficult and that his Warriors team beat Wemby’s squad two in a row.
Banners are not hung in December, true, but statements are being made.
Yes the Spurs are better than the Thunder right now. Doesn’t mean they will be the whole season. We are not going to trade away a core piece from this team.
I honestly don’t want to see them in the playoffs but with this team I still like our chance.
Thunder Up!
There’s a fine line between addressing we need to do work and get better and people dooming and talking about trades we supposedly need to do
Freaking out about some bad losses before the new year just shows how many casual fans have enjoyed the “NBA 2K on Rookie Difficulty” experience.
We got punched in the nose. Hard, and a few times repeatedly. It’s a reality check and humbling, but inviting trade talks and hate on players in is just some bitch made stuff, sorry to say.
