[Fedor] #Cavs Jarrett Allen has a 13.9% rebounding percentage. That ranks 37th out of all centers in the NBA who have played at least 5 games this season.

  1. JA has been terrible. he used to be able to rip off 12-15 boards a game no problem. i know kenny has him guarding away from the hoop a lot which takes him out of position to rebound but watching him get absolutely punked by mitchell robinson, completely out of rebounding position over and over, was brutal

  2. I’m starting to think he might not be worthy of being on the banner outside of the arena.

  3. We really dont have any rebounding bigs. Watching Mobley stand and watch the ball towards the end that led to KAT getting an uncontested putback was infuriating 🤣

  4. But he’s still core player that will help us in the playoffs because he loves pokemon and gets double doubles against tanking teams

If Koby cares about salvaging this season, Allen should be a dead man walking before the deadline

  5. If put on the trade block….Contract + performance = bag of well worn basketballs in return

  6. I’m kinda giving him a pass right now because his hands are still clearly injured. If he does this in the playoffs again then that’s another story

  7. Yeah. I can’t figure out how that dude can be that tall and not rebound for shit. I’ve loved the guy but he hasn’t progressed. Maybe if he could knock down 3s enough to be taken seriously we could overcome somehow not being able to rebound but he doesn’t get better.

  8. I’ll give him some leeway that he’s had a broken finger on each hand so that can explain some of the rebounding but there’s really no excuse for how sluggish he’s been playing, not in good position most of the time on defense and hasn’t done a great job in boxing out overall. Need him to play with way more energy.

  9. Allen has been a problem since they drafted Mobley — his flaws are too similar to Mobleys. They need a big who can counter some of Mobleys deficiencies. I can see why they like his defensive versatility but rebounding is a critical gap they can’t ignore.

  10. Mitchell Robinson has one offensive skill— offensive rebounding. He is unlike most other NBA players in that he is single-minded trying to position himself for an offensive rebound.

Also, half of Robinson’s OREBs came with Mobley on, Allen off.

Allen had 8 rebounds in 23 minutes last night. The Cavs out-rebounded the Knicks 45 to 43.

The actual cause of the Cavs’ loss yesterday was more directly about the defense giving up 42 points in the 4th, mostly driven by Kolek and Brunson hitting their 3s, while Mitchell and Garland combined to go 5/16 while the rest of the team took 10 shots total.
