When I hear people complain about “one of our worst seasons”

Like we kinda ass right now, but competitive ass, not laughable ass.

It’s time for me to log off from the Lions until about April or the bad takes will drive me insane. The Wings, Pistons, Tigers, and Spartans are more than enough to carry the sports torch for now.
Last time we were competitive, we fired the coach and hired Matt Patricia.
I think it’s more one of the worst seasons relative to expectations. I had us at 10-7 coming into the year but I think most fans had higher expectations after a 15-2 season.
It feels like one of our worst seasons because we all actually had high expectations

Regardless, There’s still no SB win, still no conference championship, and now no playoffs for the competitive ass…
NO. SHIT. Historically, this is a good season for us. In reality, it’s not, and we should be upset. But I have to wonder if the biggest doomers in here even paid attention over the last 20 or so years.

Lmao people are wild. I didn’t think we were going to make the playoffs, but was told that was “toxic” and I was a fake fan despite the fact we lost both coordinators.
It’s okay to have expectations that are down a bit due to the change over. And even then, a 8-9 or 9-8 down year isn’t horrible. Could we have done a bit better? Sure. But it’s not the SOL. We’ll be fine

I have two numbers for those people. 0 and 16.
I don’t think it’s been one of the worst seasons ever, it’s the fact that might have been the SINGLE WORST, MOST EMBARRASSING LOSS I’ve ever experienced as a lions fan. And I’ve been a victim since ‘92. I think that’s what got a lot of long time fans upset. Not the season but that horrible game. We looked like we did when we sucked for all those years and that scares the shit out of me, and it should every other fan as well.
As a lifelong fan (ok, since 8th grade when I moved to Michigan, but I’m old), this sentiment/entitlement confuses me as well. I have to admit I was really confused when I saw Lions fans taking over visiting stadiums at away games, I thought our decades long misery didn’t extend past state lines, but it was cool to see.
Now that I’m seeing the implosion on this sub, I’m equally confused. We almost made the super bowl a couple years ago. Had another great regular season last year, flamed out in the playoffs. The NFL is hard to win, all the dudes out there are really good, and when 1/3 of your defense gets injured and you have to find guys to fill in, that makes it harder. Piecemealing an offensive line vs. one of the best pass defenses in the league like yesterday? Nearly impossible.
I get the gripes about the lack of runs by Monty lately. I get the gripes about going for it too much on 4th down. But what happened to “Trust DCFC” lmao. Ima keep my chin up, keep rooting, and I’ll be watching the game next weekend. Here’s to 2026.
My father in law asked if I was depressed and suicidal after the game yesterday. I told him I was raised a lions fan this is nothing compared to the dark times.
