1. Their style of play gets a lot more difficult as the season progresses because (a) teams start getting their legs and caring more about defense, and (b) teams start game planning for you.

    The numbers show this. LeBron + Luka/Reaves are a bad team. Luka +Reaves are a much better team.

Luka who you and the rest of the local experts loved was obtained from Dallas for two of the best defensive players in the league. DFS who the Lakers obtained for Dlo is a good defensive player that did not sign with the Lakers because of his wife and five kids in Texas. The Lakers have a roster full of expiring contracts. They are set up to be really good next year. Anything they get this year with a flawed roster was gravy. Remember dude.

26. I have been coaching for over 2 decades now at a pretty decent level and I’m shocked at lakers defence and the lack of coaching when it comes to any sort of defensive identity

    From the first 5 games lakers haven’t played one good quarter of consistent defence you could tell early on they had no interest in it at all. You could tell it was all about offence shoot as many shots Austin and Luka and score more than the other team and hope they don’t score more than us.

    For as long as I remember in the nba it’s a known fact defence wins championships it always has and will but I was surprised that the lakers coaching staff completely pushes that to the side you could tell lakers players had no clue what they were doing

    Every game same things kept coming up every game same players but they were wining against crappy teams losing an odd game to and team but they were happy

    What I’m mostly disappointed at is the coaching staff and how they just completely ignored any defensive schemes systems values accountability from the first game. I don’t blame the players their defence is just coaches reflection of poor coaching that’s all.

    I am shocked that they expect a 41 year old LeBron to grab rebounds box out close out take charges occasionally mark other teams best players and be a third option lol

    While their two superstars Austin and Luka take combined 50 field goals lol and LeBron is standing in the corner hahahahah watching

    The other guys all standing watching some nights 5 players take 10 shots combined because Luka and Austin shoot the whole team out of the game

    LeBron is a passenger by standard watching lol and they expect him to stand watch grab rebounds play defence while other guys shoot lol

    It should be other way around Luka Austin Rui Ayton coaches all focusing on defence nothing else just defence having a defensive culture taking pride in every possession every detail every defensive habit

    And everyone buy into it like bubble team starting with Luka and Austin but it’s been completely opposite which I am shocked about I’m stunned they abandoned defence completely lol

    In this era in this time of the nba now they stopped playing defence lol Luka is playing 2k completely free to play 12 minutes take 25 field goals be 3-15 from 3 and score 30 points in a. Quarter lol and other guys take 5 field goals combined while he taking step backs fade away doing iso choking the ball to the ground

    That’s not Luka players issue that’s coaching culture issue that’s terrible mentality very poor from JJ and his coaching staff he allowed this to happen

    I’m very disappointed I hope LeBron leaves soon so he isn’t to blame and they can start again
