Yeah I’m calling bullshit on that one. Ernie and Addison are both way better not sure why they would have any interest unless it was a minor league deal with an invite to spring training.
I can’t see the Jays being that interested. Unless they’re planning on having Ernie is playing 2B and Addison is out in RF full time? Might be just kicking tires as a contingency plan in case they miss out on both Bo and Tucker maybe?
I guess Buffalo needs a 3B.

Emergency plans if they don’t get one of the top guys. They really don’t want Barger to play 3rd often so far if the rumors are true they’ve been in on all the 3B except Suarez.

Only way this happens is if they miss on Bo, Tucker AND Bregman and they’re just looking for a bench piece that’s better than Leo Jimenez.

Definitely sounds like a Blue Jay target.
The bench will likely include Straw, Schneider, Heineman, and a SS backup. There’s no room on the roster to add Moncada as a bench player. And I wouldn’t start Moncada over the Jays current starters, or even backups like Schneider. There’s no reason to sign Moncada.
Would be a really nice bench piece but no way they’re gonna offer him a full time gig.
They need to sign Bo. Get another mid relief pitcher “can never have enough”. And they’re good to go. Also haven’t heard anything on the Scherzer front but if he wants to transition to be a mid relief guy I’d take him back 100%.

Moncada should not be any higher than Plan L for us this offseason.
This only makes sense if Barger or Clement are being included in a package for Marte, and were filling the hole in third (this also assumes no Bo coming back).
Otherwise why would we do this?
