Celtics star Jaylen Brown racks up an 8th straight game of 30-or-more points as the Celtics rout the Pacers at Indianapolis.

Jaylen Brown is playing through one of the greatest scoring streaks in Celtics history.

The four-time All-Star and 2024 NBA Finals MVP has scored 30 points in eight straight games, a feat accomplished only one other time in Boston’s storied franchise history.

Brown poured in 30 points on 13-for-20 shooting in Friday’s 140-122 victory over Indiana. He shot 2-for-3 from 3-point range.

Hall-of-Famer Larry Bird scored 30 in nine straight games during the 1985 season, and Brown will have a chance to tie Bird’s best streak when the Celtics play on the road against the Trail Blazers on Sunday.

Only one player this season has had a longer such streak: Lakers guard Luka Doncic. The NBA scoring leader erupted for 30 points in nine straight games (Nov. 15-Dec.12).

The Celtics are 6-2 over the life of Brown’s 30-point scoring streak.

Brown broke out for a season-high 42 points on 16-for-24 shooting in the first game of the streak, a 123-117 win over the Knicks on December 12.

He’s scored exactly 30 points five times in his last eight games, and he’s shooting 50% (302-for-602) over the life of his streak.

Brown hasn’t hit more than three 3-pointers in any game during the streak. The last time he scored fewer than 30 points came on November 30. But in the three games before that one, Brown scored 41, 33 and 35.

He’s averaging 29.4 points per game through 28 games.
