The Reds have signed OF J.J. Bleday. Former 4th overall pick (2019), left-handed bat, former Vanderbilt star. Low-risk move with upside and power potential. Per @ByRobertMurray

  1. A very typical Krall signing. And I don’t mean that as a slight. He’s been pretty good at finding cheap and affordable gold. I am not super hopeful on Bleday though simply because if you struggled to hit in that Sacramento ballpark, oi.

  2. Does he fit with the team? Not entirely. Do I like the move for the potential and team control associated? Sure, why not.

People love to just every single move, I just am like “huh. Neat.” And move on with my day. Lol

  3. This is a typical Reds move. A potential buy low guy that’s young, has upside and multiple years of team control. I do like the angle that this might be creating depth for the possible trade of another outfielder for Robert. He’s more intriguing since he’s had some success. Still not a clear cut win now move, but there’s more upside with Robert.

  4. I don’t hate it. We got another Athletics guy who crushes lefties if he repeats last years stats.
