I want to see Caissie get some consistent playing time this year along with Ballestaros. Either give these kids a shot or trade them for a veteran you will play or a starting pitcher.
Caissie is a yes. Bring him to the show.
Yeah, I one of the reasons maybe because he’s gonna be the replacement for Tucker. We’re replacing him of a rookie and I think that was the plan all along with the cups. You have a rookie in there. It’s not gonna cost you money so let’s move on from that better hope that he plays well and hit well. That’s a good strategy. Looks like moving on.
That is the same thing they said about Gary Scott and Brailyn Márquez and Brennan Davis and Mark Prior and Felix Pie and Esop Choi and Josh Vitters and Kevin Orie and many others but they all fell on their face. Nobody knows what prospects will or won't do.
Make Cassie our New Right fielder 😊
I think Cassie is the real deal. Bring him up.
The bullpen will be the achilles heel this year.
Elite??? Based on what? This is simply what you talk about when you finally realize there will be no new incoming talent anytime soon.
I remember when you said the same thing about Matt shaw
Not buying the Cassie crap – I saw enough last year – horrible swing and fades to first base soooooo bad. He will be junk in the MLB – TRADE HIM NOW !!!!! For the love of God get rid of him b4 it’s too late
I think the rest of the bullpen will be filled with the minor league signed this offseason
My gut is leading me more and more to the following:
I think Bob Nightingale had it correct, but he missed the memo that he wasn’t supposed to spill the beans on Zac Gallen until after the wedding, honeymoon and Christmas. Then to management starting rotation is done.
I also believe that management feel they have done enough bullpen bolstering with their signings and what they still had left over and on the 40 man roster.
I think the Alex Bregman talks are smoke for distraction to have other teams bid up thus reducing their money. Same regarding the Cubs being linked to Imai. Bring in Eugenio Suarez for a two-year $40 million contract. Moving Matt Shaw to a utility role to give time off at third base, shortstop and second base. Also then insurance policy in case the Cubs cannot work out a Nico Hoerner extension keeping him a cub. If they can’t then Shaw stays at second base allowing time for their organization third baseman to get more seasoned while Suarez finishes up.
Cassie getting the bulk in righfield, time to put up or shut up. I think he has a higher ceiling and younger version of Ian Happ, minus the switchhitting aspect.
I would still hope Ian Happ waves is no trade clause and moves on to a contender like the Mariners, Dodgers etc. allowing less of a log jam in the outfield as well giving Kevin Alcântara opportunity. Moving PCA to left field and Cassie in right.

Keller is where?
I’ll believe it when I see it with Caissie. I’m not convinced that he’s an elite hitter in the bigs from what I’ve seen.. Ballesteros is a clear pure hitter from what I’ve seen
I love how prospects are so important, until its time to bring them up, then the sky is falling and we need to sign a free agent for that position. Bring the kid up and let him play. Leave Shaw where he is. Let the kids remind the fans this is a young man's game.
I want to see Alcantara shine with the Cubs. Unfortunately theres too much depth in our outfield, he may have to get traded, which we'll inevitably regret per usual with all Chicago sports teams
These same fans that want Cassie in RF like I do will want him traded for an over paid veteran next year if he don't hit 290 and 30 bombs just our elite young rookie 3rd baseman Matt Shaw had a very solid rookie season, but right away people want him traded and bring in an overpaid aging Bregman lol its ridicules let these elite young prospects play every day Shaw/Cassie and use the money to support them with a great rotation and bullpen.
Does bellinger and Tucker have similar problems? Seems like they both are having up and down seasons sometimes
He better. Because the Cubs are not bringing in anyone of significance.
