I’ll be honest when we picked darnold up I thought this season would be a bust, but I gotta eat crow on that. He’s balled out and put in the work, I’ll be interested to see if he rises to the moment in the playoffs but I definitely will admit I was wrong. Be curious to see if they try to extend him this offseason because I thought we only had him for 2 years.
This is the kind of high quality content I come to Reddit for
I can still do without the turnovers.
When we signed him I just hoped for a .500 season. He is a great fit for our team and needless to say, playing WAY above my expectations.
Sam is coo…just stop throwing ints against the rams and we can be best friends
Is Sam all that and a bag of chips? Of course not. Is he a great match for our current team? I’d say so. I’ll repeat this again. ***We are the second youngest team in the league with a lot of improvements still left to make.***
For one thing our o-line is still a work in progress and that’s reflected in Sam’s performance. IMHO that’s why MM wasn’t trying all that hard to dump Geno. We are supposed to be in our “building” years, and our current record is as much due to Sam’s leadership as anything else.
Will we still have him behind center when his contract is up? Maybe yes, maybe no. But what we will have IMHO is a much better seasoned team that are serious contenders. And with or without Sam us fans will be the winners either way.
Please, please, stop thinking that we’re supposed to go all the way and take the bowl. It’s unrealistic expectations for a very young team to do. Could we? Could we with Sam as QB? Yes to both. But it’s football, anything can happen. Just remember how bad the Chiefs/Mahomes played in the last SB.
