Poole single handed loss that game, his play have me thinking he want out of N.O
You win the game if you just make some damn free throws. Even TM3 missed FTs it was crazy.
Bottom line is just overall, we have NO DEFENSE AS A WHOLE. We don't have any big men that guards the paint good and consistently.
Secondly, the team is good.. I'm not going to dog any player when they lose, but when they win we applauding.
Just the lack of defense and missed free throws is the main reason to me.
FREE THROWS!!! We always complain how the refs swallow their whistles when the Pels have the ball. This time the refs blow the whistle & as a team the Pels made 18 out of 36!! DAMN!!!
Missi should play more and Queen should not play center, he’s a forward, he thinks he’s a guard which screws up the defense. He wants to guard the ball handler leaving the lane wide open. Poole should go, he wants to be the finisher, he’s too inconsistent a shooter. Bey is a much better player in every aspect than Poole, a better player would help in the closing lineup of Zion, Murphy, Missi, Bey and Alvarado, until Herb is healthy.
There were several seasons I saw. 1. We have to shoot better at home. 2. Coach didn't play centers enough. 3. Could not make free throws.

@Pelicans Digest mel must be a McCullom hater. C J Mac would have made enough 3s to carry us thru. But we gave him up for Poole which i knew was a grave mistake. He gave more than Poole could ever give i different ways. Poole os a clown. Your comparison to them both is garbage at its best. You obviously haven't seen what he does in scoring as a starter. They won the trade,and the Pelicans lost. But i think you applauded the trade initially if I'm not mistaken.
Another great show! Get off CJ tho. I keep saying Poole is not on CJ level. CJ would have closed this game easily! Did it many of times for us! I have seen it many times up close and personal!
This team needs a starting point guard, athletic wing & a starting center BAD!
He had the ball last,so hes terribly responsible for the lost in spite of all those missed freethrows
Small ball is killin us. Even if Karlo isnt doing well, either him or Missi must be in the game. Pels have no rim protection and we get absolutely murdered on the glass
As for Fears, either him or somebody else needed to come in for Poole. He was 50% responsible and the free throws were the other 50%
But I charge Borrego for that loss. Should have taken Poole out
Poole took too many long 3s and didn't get Zion involved with the Suns in the penalty in the 3rd and 4th quarter. Jose should have gotten the PG minutes late in the game.
They missed 17 free throws. Period! Plus it was unnecessary to trap a team that has 2 sharpshooters(Booker and Gillespie) and a solid big(Williams).
100% agree. Jordan Poole lost the game for us. MAYBE 3 of his 11 three attempts were good shots. Even accounting for being fouled, he took more attempts than anyone. Criminally, even more than Zion who they had NOTHING for.
Free throws were obviously huge. By averages we should’ve made 8 more (and lost by 7…).
Queen was still on vacation, Missi should’ve got more burn.
And I counted at least 13 points Phoenix got on offensive rebounds that EASILY should have been defensive rebounds.
Will we get lucky tonight w the Suns staying cold from three?? This was such a winnable game. Shame to let it slip away.
