  1. Pip is the 1st player I talk about to my youth teams. How he sacrificed for the greater good of the team. But on Mike level. Hell nawl. Pippen wasn't as mentally strong as Jordan. To handle those pressures situations Mike had to handle at the end of those games. Pippen defense was very important. I watched the games. Pippen would however dissapear occasionally offensively. In '96 he went on a prolonged offensive slump. '98 he opted to get surgery before the start of the season because he was mad with his contract. Rodman was hanging out in Vegas with Toni Braxton. Bulls still won 62 games and their final chip. With Jordan holding it down every night. Pippen do deserve mad credit. But Mike was the F'n man.

  2. Pippen Greater than Jordan? People don't get that what made Jordan untouchable was the mentality. Pippen couldn't sniff the jock of Jordan's mental toughness.

LeBron and Pippen have a lot in common

  3. If Scottie and Mike took the time to talk to each other, Scottie would have understood what Mike was willing to do contractually and maybe he wouldn’t have the same animosity when it came to what he was paid and who’s fault it is. I understood he wanted to be secure since his brother just had that terrible accident and his dad was not well but he also made that decision on his own. You gotta live with it and not blame someone else if you didn’t do everything you could to get what you wanted.

  4. Scotty had many components with the potential to possibly be in the category with MJ, but he was not better than M. On defense in certainly but on offense he was nowhere near it now I know we can say oh Scotty could do everything on offense who cares people giving guys credit cause they could do a bunch of stuff instead of the guy who does two or three things an elite level…. The biggest difference between MJ and Scotty was the mental aspect…. MJ is one of the most headstrong if not the most headstrong player to ever grace this league… when MJ retired. He had a chance to be the top dog in the league twice, and never sat at the top of the mountain…..

  5. Which stars ā€œgave a piece of themselves contractually to keep their brother thereā€ did Craig get paid to spout bs? Jordan wasn’t even paid like that until his last two years

  6. I agree. Only thing that set MJ apart from Scottie was his scoring, but everything else?? Scottie was better at; passing, rebounding, and especially on defense. And MJ definitely didn’t come to his defense when it came to time for Scottie to get a new contract, he said Scottie was being selfish instead….top 50 greatest player ever, but the 122nd highest paid player in the league during that six championship run….šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Which is why I’ll never fault players for demanding trades, or leaving in free agency for new teams, there is no loyalty on the franchise’s side, so there should none on the players’ side, and the fans should treat both the same.

  7. Yeah but Scottie couldn't shoot. He was great defensively and in transition. He had good handles and could assist. But he wasn't a shooter. He wasn't a volume scorer. It was never like…..we need a bucket….clear out for Scottie…..even when it was his team. Taking nothing away from Pip but he was never neck and neck with Mike. His game was elevated and illuminated because of Mike. He was never a TRUE #1 in Chicago, Houston, or Portland. In other words he was never feared by the opposition that he would beat them. Take Scottie off Mike's team and he's just a good player. Its not like he dominated the league when Mike briefly retired. He wasn't an all-star in Houston or Portland. Just a good player. Scottie was NEVER the man. Just a great complimentary player to the GOAT.

  8. One season toward the end of the season they put Mike at the point, and he had 15 triple doubles. It’s not that he couldn’t, it’s just a waste for a man of his talents!!!

  9. Someone needs to do a deep dive about why they weren't hanging out together outside of the game of basketball. Scottie needs to give details about why this was so. And, MJ himself needs to be asked why they didn't.

Because, the public and fans want to know the details about their relationship while they were playing. Maybe there's stuff in there that nobody is going to come out and say, regardless, we're all just going to be left wandering. But, more needs to be said about this than has been said.

  10. MJ helped Scottie to get that confidence after continually losing to Detroit. The Pistons and other teams knew the key to beating Chicago was punking Pip because he had a tendency to whine and mope. His most famous incident was when Phil deferred to Toni against NY and Pip refused to enter the game. He reverted to the whiner. He was not as good a shooter as MJ from the field or free throw line, either.

  11. Craig Hodges is wrong about Pippen being better than Jordan. He was taller and had some of the "same components." Being taller and able to jump and having the "hands" doesn't mean you are better than Michael Jordan. Connie Hawkins wasn't better than Elgin Baylor. Darnell Hillman wasn't better than Julius Erving. Being taller, faster, jumping higher, having a better handle, doesn't always make a person a better basketball player. For example, Jalen Brunson is one of the best players in the game today. Pippen was good but Michael Jordan was a better basketball player than Pippen.
