If you have been to Winnipeg, you will understand! Lol! Went to a hockey tournament there recently and let’s just say it certainly wouldn’t be on my list to visit again…
Got to visit Winnipeg for the Wild game last year. Was really surprised at how rough it was the entire drive from the airport to downtown, and how downtown definitely seemed depressed. It could definitely turn around, they had a cool market on the river that we enjoyed! But even the locals were asking us why we’d stay downtown.
… I like the IKEA in Winnipeg?
But yeah… not one of my favorite places to visit.
Although if you live anywhere in Northern MN, it’s worth double checking the prices on flights from Winnipeg. Yeah, the border crossing is a hassle, but you get some REALLY nice prices there compared to MSP. Like, on a vacation to Cali recently, I got tickets for like, $300 cheaper than if I had flown out of MSP, especially considering the conversion rate.
