  1. Total Cap Liabilities for next year are: $285,776,772 and right now the Lions have $20 million in cap space.
Of the top 9 in that list, the only one I would keep is Roy Lopez (and possibly Amik Robertson but as a slot corner only). Roy Lopez is the only one in that group that's worth every penny and-then-some (which is why his market value has doubled). DJ Reed also has to go, he isn't worth the $1,765,000 owed next season either.
Add to that group Jared Goff and his $32 million owed next year ($18 mil guaranteed)… that right there would save the Lions $59 million, plus this years cap space gives the Lions $79 million or so…

  2. As a Lions fan, I know that things will change. They’ll beat every team, they’ll get to the playoffs, and get to the Super Bowl or die trying. No disrespect, but that’s all I’m saying. Keep up the good work.

  3. Get rid of

We need to add a difference maker on defense and a proven starter at center. I think Brad is going to roll the dice on Mahogany and Fraizer at guard. After restructuring 4 contracts that will free up all the money needed for Bargain Brad to make moves necessary to right this ship in 2026! No more project draft picks or free agents with injury history

  4. I don't know what the snap count is with Detroit playing a 4-2-5 as opposed to a 4-3-4 but I think we're keeping way too many linebackers. Campbell is ready to lead the defense and with re-signing Barnes, those 2 obviously starting and depending on what type of linebacker Detroit is going to start with Campbel and Barnes, I guess you'd be looking for a SAM / OLB ,unless Barnes can play that spot and then you're looking for a WLB.
If you're going to bring back 3 of them on this list, then we don't need to draft or sign a linebacker this season. It's not a priority right now..
As far as the D line, obviously Hutch and McNeil are 2 starters on the d-line
Is there any concern with who's the other 2 that are going to start?
I'm assuming T.Williams at DT and at least one quality backup DT
I really am not the one that's going to keep on talking about who plays DE opposite of Hutch. People can't figure out a criteria on what that person needs to do, to be considered the player they accomplish before the player is said it's the wrong move? How many sacks should they have? How much are you willing to spend in free agency to get that player? How high in this year's draft, are you going to go to get that player? Is he going to get more production then somebody
The secondary continues to be an issue. One thing fans can't say, is Brad hasen't addressed it. He either drafted or signed the following secondary players Cam Sutton,, Charles Davis,, Brian Branch, Kerby Joseph, Iffy, DJ Reed, Terion Arnold,, Amik Robinson,, and CJ Gardner-Johnson out of those players, I don't think any of them are bad players. In hindsight you can go back and say maybe one or two didn't perform at a peak level,.
When you don't have your 2 starting Safeties or their #3 Safety, you're starting Slot/ Nickel CB and having to move your CB2 because of injuries whose fault is that?
Is it Brad's fault because a player got injured?
I'm not talking about players like Emmanuel Moseley or Rakestraw.
hould the Lions resign Brian Branch this off season, during the season or wait till after next year to sign him, when he'll be a free agent?
Would you trade him if you're not going to keep him past this season?

  5. Terrible, terrible list. Here is the correct list
DJ Reader – Gone. Gave up when we started lossing. Could see it on tape.
Alex Anzalone – Keep. Unless we are replacing our Man scheme, we need him. Core team peace. Needs to retire a Lion.
Khalif Raymond – Gone. Tome Kennedy is a better returner and filled his role better. You don't get a spot because you're a good guy.
Amik Robertson – Keep. Great depth and nickel corner. He was asked to play a different role this year because of injuries. Not his fault.
Levi Onzuwurike – Gone. Wet toilet paper.
Roy Lopez – Keep. Another core piece who fits the culture we found a gem.
Marcus Davenport – Gone. No passion. Clearly plays football for the paycheck. Low effort player.
Josh Paschal – Keep. If you're going to give another 1 year chance, this is it. Probably won't pan out but if he does work out, risk is worth it.
Grant Stuard – Keep. Good depth and special teams.
Daniel Thomas – Gone. Dime-a-dozen talent.
Avonte Maddox – Keep. Quality experienced depth.
AQ Muhammad – Gone. Bad against run. We need elite EDGE talent if we are keeping the Man scheme and he isn't it.
Kayode Awosike – Gone. Terribad. He constantly missed assignments.
Kyle Allen – Gone. If Goff went down we would be screwed.
Zach Cunningham – Gone. Barely heard his name.
    Ezekiel Turner – Gone. Same.
Rock Ya-Sin – Keep. Elite depth.
Shane Zylstra – Keep. Cheap and familiar with us.
    Jamarco Jones – Gone.
    Tyrus Wheat – Gone.
Trever Nowaske – Keep. Quality ST
    Jake Bates – Keep. Duh.
Dicaprio Bootle – Gone. Who? Huh?

  6. Levi should come back on a Vet minimum deal. He is a good player when not hurt. Paschel will probably retire due to bad health. Anzalone needs to come back regardless of cost. Outside of that, the defense needs a complete retooling. Center needs to be addressed in the draft early, along with a LT. First two picks should go center then left tackle, unless a no brainer edge falls to us in the first round.😊

  7. Factoring in age, price, positional value and play I'd keep amik over lief. Dt was addressed first round last year so dj is gone. Keep Roy Lopez and Stuard.

  8. Terrell Williams made these d-line guys produce in 2024. losing him as the DC to New England really stung, but a lot of people speculated he was waiting for Vrabel to get back in the game cause the two of them are close, so not sure if there was anything we could do. They need to get a coach regardless who they sign on the interior.

  9. Amik played better under glenn/townsend last year. and he plays better as a rotational piece than as a 1/2. If he plays for same or less money maybe you consider it. but really they should focus on upgrading front 7 with anzo leaving and deteriorating performance on d-line.
