some kid spilled applesauce all over my jersey. the lady rubbed it off with wipes, i should’ve taken it off and looked but i didn’t wanna make her feel bad. my mistake because the signatures are all smudged and it smells horrible 🙁 any advice? i kinda wanna cry about it

Wash it like normal, and hang dry. Detergent doesn’t hurt black sharpie.
luckily the numbers don’t look too stained, probably scrub them with a damp towel being careful not to scrub the numbers, and as long as none of those signatures came from tonight then you should be good to wash on delicate and hang dry. make sure to turn the jersey inside out when washing
I have washed signed jerseys dozens of times without issue. You have to really try to take out signatures.
My go to is to wash on gentle/handwash cycle, low temp, inside out. hang dry. looks and smells like new.
Do a wash with just white vinegar, no detergent. White vinegar won’t really affect the sharpie. If you’re unsure, try spot cleaning it with white vinegar by scrubbing it with a paper towel. Just make sure it soaks through the stain, then rinse it off with water.
Make sure you wash it inside out. But like everyone said gentle cycle in the machine will be fine
UPDATE:
i don’t believe i can edit the post, but thank you so much for the help. i washed it inside out on delicate and the signatures are fine besides the ones smudged when she wiped it. unfortunately it’s stained in all the same spots, so i’m going to try and spot clean it somehow 😅
You have what they call a conundrum
Never wear it?
Boiling water and salt poured onto the fabric. Dab aggressively. No rubbing. Avoid the signatures as much as possible
