[PuckPedia] Zamula has changed agents and is now rep’d by Dan Milstein. Sounds like he’s willing to terminate his $1.7M deal & sign with a new team for less…To facilitate deal, word is PHI is willing to take an expiring F contract back.

  1. For fans of other teams: do they also have some type of near annual drama surrounding a 7th/8th defensemen?

  2. Good luck. Teams already had the opportunity to grab him without giving up additional assets

  3. Not sure about this one. The dude isnt a good enough hockey player to void that kind of money. He may get signed again elsewhere, but didnt he just clear waivers??

There’s a very plausible scenario where he terminates the $1.7M, then gets signed somewhere for less on a 1 year contract, proves once again he’s not an NHL level player, then never gets signed again.

I guess you gotta bet on yourself in order to make it, but does anyone really see a future here?

  4. Zamula thinks he’s way better than he is. Crazy to be this demanding when you’re a 7TH D at best. See ya later

  5. Here are the upcoming UFA forwards for this offseason.

    Zamula for Malkin, straight up.

Real talk though, if Bob Clarke were still GM, he would trade for one of the ex-flyers on this list. There are quite a few.

Part of me would love to see us swap him for JVR just to break the brains of all the people who detested that guy for no reason.

  6. Zamula was given every chance to prove he belongs in the NHL and he’s been outplayed by several rookies even after multiple top 4 defensemen have gotten injured.

  7. Alex Barre-Boulet perhaps? I’d throw a dart on a center who hasn’t hit his potential because he’s been buried behind better, older guys

  8. I wish him well, but I think Briere should move fast on this one. I would hate for Zam to become a lockerroom problem and poison our other prospects.
