1. We're not a contender at the moment – how many more seasons of this do we have to put up with before some moves are made? Tom Fitzgerald does not have a NMC – I'd start there. Let's Go Devils 😈🏒

2. Saw this coming back in late October/early November (I have receipts). This core is garbage and they all need to go along with the GM and the coach. Jack still playing cutesy hockey, Nico isnt a leader, mecer is invisible. Bratt played good today but wont score in the next 15 games. Blow this whole roster up. If no one wants to waive their NTC then healthy scratch them until they do. Dont even bring them in for practice.

   I don’t know who is responsible for the PP but to not have Timo on PP1 is a freaking crime. So whoever you are, let me tell you sir, you‘re a f.ing fanny!!!
   It‘s still the same unsolved problem, we need a 3C and URGENTLY a top6 LW. And then maybe, just maybe, playing Timo on the RW???🤯

5. AGAIN, Hamilton has no coverage on Ovechkin & Capitals tie the game. HAMILTON HAS NOW COST US 14 POINTS THIS SEASON!!! How the flying f*** is he still in this lineup?!?!? WTF ARE WE DOING HERE?!?!? Fitz, Keefe, where the F are you?!?!?

6. They had a pulse in the game. Guess that is a step in the right direction. This is getting to be a long season and it is not half done yet. Lets Go Devils!

7. So many thoughts. Overall, the team played well. What costed the team are awful turnovers and bad situational awareness on defense, and inability to cash in on offense.

   Defense:
   I am so sick and tired of seeing open players for the other team get behind our defense. This predominantly happens to Luke, Dougie, and occasionally Siegs and Dillon, but mostly the first two. Play the tape and you won’t see this happen (possibly ever) to Pesce or Nemec. I don’t think White is getting enough credit for not letting this happen. White can’t get the puck out of the zone well, but he provides good coverage. You spoke about the turnovers, but we’re seeing too many of them.

   Offense:
   The thing that’s killing me here is that we get many great chances, and the rebound is right there. But we never get the rebound. This is why I said in the stream they have to drive the net better.

   I don’t think this team suffers a personnel issue, unless the personnel are showing that this is who they are. If they clean up these two items (and add those two pieces you were asking for), this team is still a cup contender. I’m sure you don’t want to hear this, but the team still has the same issues they did when they were winning. It’s just a matter of whether the solution is in the locker room or not for these hockey system level issues

8. I’m done with this team I’ll watch when it’s on at a decent time over here but I have zero hopes of this core and team ever doing anything

9. You're correct in that the Devils outplayed the Capitals in OT. However it was wicked frustrating in that they were going for finesse, looking for that perfect shot when they should have just taken the shot. Several times they could have put the puck on net but passed it up. Thought at this point they would have put finesse behind them. It's like they didnt learn.

10. Hey Ace, you’re so fond of Nico and his pending free agency. Lousy leader, mopey like the Smurf, overrated defensively and faceoffs and not a great scorer. He’s been a disappointing 1OA. We talk about big moves with the core, he’s the guy to go. Get a man in the locker room to lead this team.

11. Ace you're right about having vets on team to teach younger players how to win. Gomer said during second cup run while on bench he was nervous. Claude was next to him, leaned over and told him to relax as they were in control and would win. That was LL recipe for success. A little wisdom that comes from.experience with the new.

12. What more is it going to take for ownership and the GM to do something about this sinking ship. Nico, Jack, Timo, Bratt, a team with these four should not be struggling to make the playoffs every single season. Devils fans expected this core to make several deep playoff runs and eventually work their way to winning a Stanley Cup, but they don’t look anywhere near a team that can even make a decent playoff run. The Flyers, Sabres, Islanders are all turning it up and even the Caps and Pens with aging captains are still competing harder than this devils team. It pains me greatly to care more about this team than ownership and management does, and quite honestly I don’t know how much longer I can sit back and support this BS. Coming back year after year after year to watch a team that the ownership doesn’t even care about, if they don’t care why should fans continue to support the team we all love that they are driving into the ground. At this point a competent GM would say this entire team is on the table for discussion about trade, every one of them. There’s not a single untouchable on this roster, and yes that includes the brothers Hughes.

13. Can’t get “goalied” for a year straight LOL god help us.

    Went last night, I thought we looked better but god these guys can’t bury a puck.

    Pull a drury; waive dougie to Utica, scratch him, I don’t care id rather Edward’s or Casey up.

    It is mental, baby shit soft core. Need a true leader with killer instinct.

14. Yeah! everything your saying in my mind points to coaching, unfortunately Keefe just isn't a good fit for NJ. Team is undisciplined, And does not seamed to be held accountable. But it's not all on him. Some of these players need to be moved. All talented players but not playing well together. And Let's face it seriously Jack Hughs obviously has a great shot and a very good skater an above average player of course, But this guy is no superstar, he isn't even a fraction of ovy or McDavid yet we treat him like he is. Nico is no Scott Stevens as a leader but at least he's on the ice and caries his own weight scoring goals. And can we please find a young goalie…

15. We dropped to #23 in the power rankings…Yeah I am happy I did not watch the game. Not gonna watch any games until Fitz is gone.

16. Ace Goalie Goalie Goalie….Allen is playing well but he is our backup Goalie…..One good goalie could really change this team..they were winning when Markstrom was strong…

17. The fan base needs to accept the reality: Jack is a “superstar” but not a selfless winner, the team is riddled with horrible contracts and clauses, TFGM is an absolute clown who is in way over his head, and our billionaire owners couldn’t care less about the on ice product or us fans.

18. I don’t even think the season is half over yet. Hopefully they find a way to get things back on track and turn the season around before it’s too late.

19. I have a source that says the Devils had a deal set up during the summer, Dougie to SJ for a 3rd round pick and a journeyman. Our old buddy Grier was doing us a solid, pretty much a cap dump without having to pay for it but Dougie didn't want to waive.

    Supposedly Dougie was approached again over the recent break and still wont waive. He looked like ass last night, dogging it out there and on the ice for every goal I believe. If true this is a massive problem, yikes!

20. The vets thing you mentioned about the vets is very true and would be a good reason to go for Stamkos at this point, albeit I’m pretty sure that’s why we brought in Palat as well. Our ceiling as you said is a first round exit right now but if we miss the playoffs and no moves are made, I do see Fitz being out which may be better for the long term success of this group. Like him as a guy but they have to rip the Dougie bandaid off. It’s clear hes not fully there at this point.

21. Abysmal. If I had a nickel for every time the devils had a high danger chance and couldn’t finish I’d be rich. The season from hell continues. BUT, I had a dream we pulled a “last season islanders” had a slim chance, and won the draft lottery.

    I’ve been so mentally checked out I don’t even care if we lose atp I’m totally numb. I just am living in the past remembering the past glorious 24/25 season… if only we knew how good we had it…

22. So therefore I think the Washington capitals cheated big time. Time for our conversation with coach Keefe and GM Fitz. At least Fitz will be fired.

23. We need to stop rushing players back. Jack should not be playing, his hand is still in a cast for goodness sake, doesn’t shoot unless absolutely necessary, and is avoiding all contact. Grits has been 🤫. And I believe Nico is playing through something.

25. Honestly our dzone play is absolutely horrible we can never seem to exit the zone clean and with speed we seem to make mistakes over and over.I think thats big reason why our offense takea big hit..
