No easy games in this league, and we gotta not play down in games we’re favored, but we could feasibly go on a little run here.

I feel rampant sports betting culture has made me reconsider nearly every call that is made.
I feel like the possibility of point shaving/making calls here and there is as easy as ever to steer a game the direction you want it to as a referee.
I’m a bears fan, so probably salty from last night, but every time SF stalled out, they got a flag to get a first down.
There was blatant PI on the last play of the game but no call.
I wish transparency from referees at the highest level was prevalent.
I hate playing struggling teams, more often than not they always get a win against Detroit.. Winnipeg comes to town Wednesday night.. they’ve won 3 games in 17.

Honestly, our coaching is what got us the win last night.
Berube has Scott ‘Literally better than McDavid when playing the Wings’ Laughton on his bench but gives him the second lowest ice time?
If it were me, I would have had Laughton playing goalie to maximize how often he was on the ice.
Probably a very lukewarm take after attending in person last night: We desperately need one more NHL caliber defenseman. The top pair is obviously elite. The second pair has really brought the best out of Ben, and ASP is playing fine for a rookie. The third pair is straight up rough. They were pinned in our end multiple times and making dangerous plays to try to get the puck out. Â
I have to believe that AlJo didn’t suddenly fall apart after a decent rookie showing and tons of compliments from GMSY. Which leaves the need for, at a minimum, another playable third pair D. Since AlJo can play either side (and actually looked a bit better on his off side last season) it leaves the door open for an LD or RD. Really hoping that we can make this relatively small, but I believe impactful move. Â
I know standings generally don’t matter for 3~ more months but how is the most “reasonable” way to look at them?
– Top 1-3 in Atlantic = happy place
– Refer to games in hand since i *think* caps would push us to wildcard with more RW if they win their next 2 (ignoring when we play next). Still in via wildcard #1 at this moment in time.
– Don’t look at standings and just believe
Like i know that we can literally fluctuate between being in the playoffs or not 20 times in the next 2 months but #2 would be the right way to look at it right? I kind of wish there was a games back type metric for easy viewing like the NBA standings but i get that OT points make that a tougher thing use at a glance.

Rasmussen has been scoring a point per game over the last 3 games. 3 games is a large enough sample size to confirm that it’s not a fluke and he’s now a point per game player, right?
Going into my day today with a little mantra courtesy of Ed – even me can do it.
I was thinking about this last night and there are enough plusses and minuses to each that I couldn’t settle on which I’d prefer or would benefit the Wings more. I’m curious to hear what y’all think.
What would frustrate you as a viewer of a game less?
Option 1 – A game where no penalties, literally zero, got called at all no matter how small or how egregious.
Option 2 – A game where every single thing that could possibly be interpreted as a penalty – from the ticky-tacky to the obvious – got called.
Damn, this team is really fun to watch right now. Also got my Seider centennial jersey for Christmas. First new wings jersey in 25 years. I hope for this one to last as long.

Was ASP scratched or hurt in the 3rd? The D pairs were all messed up for like 10 mins with Chiarot-Johansson and Ed-JBD, I never saw ASP after that or in OT.
