Night and day between demonstrative Ian who played with chutzpah and swag vs Marcus. Marcus shows no heart and runs it down mid for the first two months of the season (unless its a contract year ofc)
These long-form interviews they do are fantastic. I highly recommend them.
If you examine the stats alone, Kinsler arguably belongs in the conversation of greatest all-time Rangers.
But I never really cared for his individual personality. And he just pissed me off at times. His attitude was often poor in some situations. He felt combative at times, and a bit of a prima donna.
Marcus was stoic, yes, and we will never know the details about what really went on with intra-clubhouse relationships when Semien was captain, but Kinsler has a great point about the on-field camaraderie of the 2010-2012 era squads, which he was a big part of. They visibly had fun, and it was a spectacle. It was contagious. It’s where the stoic, always serious demeanor sort or falls flat as a spectator.
