  1. GROM – get rid of Mazzula: he doesn't know how to adjust when talent is not enough! First half Celtics had leads – second trailers adjusted Mazzula couldn't – he is not a good coach

  2. Yeah jazz beat the spurs coming off a back to back were they beat the pistons because the nba is rigged and needed to get all their money back after all the favorites but okc won on Christmas. Celtics are good but not spurs good. I lowkey expect them to lose to bad teams here and there. Minnesota also lost to the nets at home after losing a tough game to the nuggets. So yeah the nba is sus these days. These are lottery teams winning. Back then these teams would be on a 10 game loaing streak.

  3. Haven't listened yet, but can see this episode is pretty short, probably for the best.

Oh, da pain. OMG, da pain. Horrible loss. West coast road trips are never easy–just ask the Pistons–but OMG da pain. The Blaz are absolutely decimated, six out: Jrue Holiday, Jerami grant, Timelord, Matisse Thybulle, Blake Wesley (maybe the fastest player ever), Scoot Henderson, and 7 if you count Dame. That's one hell of a team they have on the IR. True the Blaz are deep with athletes and defenders, but still half their team–the better half–is gone. OMG da pain.

We give our flowers to JB regularly, and should, so we should call him out when he doesn't play well. He scored a lot (donno how many) but was entrusted to do so in crunch time and he really bellyflopped. Play after play resulted in turnovers, missed shot or something. He's been great this year, but he stunk when it counted today.

Kudos to Cling Kong (Clingan's new nickname). He dominated Quetta, Garza and everybody else. We lost the game to him.

    Some things of interest:

Today was Family Fun Day at the Moda Ctr. I wonder if this affects the players at all. You couldn't move in that place today without hearing kids screaming and crying etc. I wonder if it matters.

There was a nice tribute to Simons before the game. It seemed from afar that he was moved by it.

Dame Lillard was wearing a Yankees cap (I'm pretty sure that's what it was). IDK whether that's common for him or if he broke it out especially for the Celtics.

At the end of the first half JB hit a last-second jumper. Afterwards he horshoed around the other end of the court seemingly taunting the fans before going into the locker room for halftime. We were too far away to hear what he was saying, but some booing and hissing could be heard in response.

Bad loss, but it's only one game. It'll be quickly forgotten if we get the next one.

  4. This game goes a long way in clearing up the JB versus JT debate. Not knocking JB, if I had a vote I'd give it to him for MVP cuz I think in the literal sense he is the most valuable player in the league. He's been great this year. However, JT's floor and ceiling are higher. JB has never played as well as JT did in the game in which he tore his Achilles–never. And JT has never played as poorly as JB in the last two minutes of a close game as JB did today.

JB is a terrific player, but if they are both healthy JT is the better player and should have the ball when it matters.

  5. πŸ’šβ˜˜β˜˜β˜˜ UGH. So many screw ups. Consolation prize: we saw Brown get his 9th straight 30 piece tying him with Larry Bird's consecutive scoring record.

  6. This is like the 5th game already they lost a close game because of an offensive rebound from the opposing team.

They DESPERATELY need to trade for a big now, just like a few years ago they were desperate for a floor general.

  7. Bench Minott for the rest of the season .. let Baylor and Hugo be the powerforwards against every matchup regardless of how much shorter they are either limited jumping capability.. Mazulla you doin too much when it’s really JB carryin yall

  8. I'm sorry, but basketball is a simple game when you break it all the way down. Your number one guy can't carry the whole load. You need a number two guy, and when your number two guy goes 1 for 9 you are not winning.

  9. Good job, as usual. Nobody can autopsy an NBA game like these two. How'd they get so smart so young?

One correction tho, Camara wasn't on JB much in the first half. IDK why, he's a top-ten defender in this league, but Murray was on him most in the first half. Modern hoops, pass and play defense. It still astounds me that JB doesn't seem to draw as much attention as he might. It's the way the game is played nowadays, but if you are playing the Cs which player do you fear the most? We are a third into the season and he's scored 30+ pts every game for weeks, why not put yr best guy on him? Why not press and trap etc from the beginning? When the Cs won a couple of yrs ago they put JB on Luka full time. Worked just fine then, but JB still doesn't command the attention that JT got night in and out.

Why the calf injury epidemic? The game has been played at such a fast pace for years now and this year they are playing even faster. Maybe we've reached the limits of what human calves can take.

This trip may be more challenging than thought. Kessler's been out for the Jazz and that has really hurt them but this team has a liveliness and versatility it hasn't had in a long time. They are having fun and playing hard with some good young players and they play at altitude like Denver. The Clips are hot, and always were better than their record. The kings are better than their record too. According to a website called CraftedNBA, they've had the hardest schedule in the league so far. They are followed by the Clips and Blaz, and the Jazz are number 9. So all of these teams are better than we may have thought. All are winnable, but maybe not a cakewalk.

JFTR, again according to CraftedNBA, the Cs have had the 24th hardest schedule. Another site has them with the 10th hardest remaining schedule.

The blaz might be good next year, but watch out for this year. If they can get Holiday, Grant (who's been great this year), Thybulle etc. nobody'll wanna play this team in a best of seven.

    Happy new year.
