  • “They’re a tough team to play against…we just got to be tighter with our execution.”
  • “You got to close out games in this league.” They need to be willing to score goals like the game tying goal for the Canes.
  • “Overtime is tough. It’s a possession game. We win the draw. We get a rush, and then I lose the puck. And then from them on out, we kind of don’t possession.”
  • They need “to be more willing to generate offense in tougher ways.”
  • Shesty “played outstanding.”

Mika

  • Getting the point after losing a lead is different than getting it when you tie the game late.
  • They needed to play more behind Carolina.
  • “Tough one to lose, obviously, but we’ll take any point that we can get.”
  • It’s up to the coaches to challenge for GI.
  • “The first [power play] was good with the goal.”

Gavi

  • It’s been a long time since he played on the power play. Getting the goal “was pretty special.”

  1. I didn’t see goalie interference on the tying goal.

They need to clean it up. Taking a penalty in OT is practically suicide. With that much space, NHL players are making it count damn near every time.
