Cossa is having an extremely good season with Grand Rapids this year. He is currently the best goalie in the AHL stat wise.

Do we think he gets a call up or will probably have to wait for an injury if there is unfortunately one?

  1. Accounts for 100% of all losses… SMH

I think an injury call up is the only likely scenario for him, especially considering how improved Gibson has looked recently with the plan to bring him up permanently at the start of the 2026 season.

  2. Once Tre is officially in the system, Cossa could be next up, but there is also some value to let him ride this wagon to a championship and build that confidence.

  3. I think they want the Dustin Wolf treatment. Wolf won at least one AHL MVP if I’m remembering correctly before they decided he was ready.

  4. I think he should start to get looks with the team even without injury. We have the roster space and Talbot/Gibson have both had stretches of poor play that would justify giving a third goalie a shot.

  5. This is a massive confidence booster. Let him dominate the AHL and bring him up next season. Prepare for a bit of a slump in the beginning. He seems to dominate then fall off at the next level. It’s not unexpected. It takes a bit to adapt to the next level of competition.

  6. I have to imagine the front office is looking at his second half/playoffs. Last season, he faded.

  7. Cossa has a loss? Dudes a bum. You know who doesn’t have a loss? Future considerations, Stevie pick up the phone! /s

  8. I’m just praying this is real and not the product of having an NHL defense in front of him 🙏🏻

  9. Honestly I shoulda kept receipts from the doubters in this sub a year or 2 ago. Not getting ahead of myself either as he’s still got a ways to go to being an elite NHL goalie, but it’s looking more and more likely that he will be.

  10. Wow unreal. The future is so bright for the Red Wings of guys like Cossa can reach their potential in the NHL. And with team-friendly contracts for Mo and Raymond, Detroit has so much flexibility to keep key pieces long term, or acquire players as see fit. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt this much optimism for the Wings! Feels good!

  11. He’s got great numbers but so does every goalie the Griffins have put out there. Hard to tell what’s him and what’s the team.
